From £514 per week
A cosy, comfortable Shepherd's Hut in a rural hillside setting with log-burner, tranquillity and fabulous views over the Clwydians. Romantic treat or Escape to the country? Emily Rose is perfect.
Overview
Emily Rose is a thermally insulated shepherd's hut fitted with solid oak flooring. It has a handmade kitchenette with fridge, butler sink (hot and cold running / drinkable water) and a 2-ring induction hob. We provide basic crockery, pans, glasses, cutlery etc.
A powerful Hobbit log-burning stove adds style and warmth on cooler evenings (one basket of logs & kindling provided). The king-sized bed is raised to allow for luggage storage underneath and partially enclosed for that cosy feel. Quality bedlinen for a really comfortable sleep, and towels are provided.
Little extras such as stylish chairs with sheepskin covers, phone charging port and a small welcome gift on arrival will enhance your stay.
A shower room facility with plenty of hot water, flush toilet, heated towel rail and complimentary toiletries is located just a short walk away and directly outside you'll find bistro table/chairs, firepit, private composting toilet and great views. Enjoy a picnic under the apple trees or toast marshmallows over the fire - whatever you choose to do this is a special place to relax.
The hut is in a field / garden of 1 acre. The space is shared with us and guests staying in the gypsy wagon (summer only) and cottage. Our hens are free ranging and other wildlife visits the garden regularly (badgers / hares / foxes / birds etc).
Beyond your own space, you can enjoy the wider grounds. The tranquillity bench with wind chimes is a great place to relax with a glass of wine in the evening sun, and apple trees provide shade to the picnic bench in summer. OR visit the Old Bakehouse with a working 18th century bread oven.
We are high in the Clywydian Range (an AONB) alongside Offas' Dyke, perfect for hiking and cycling. The beaches and castles of North Wales are a short drive and Snowdonia, Chester and Liverpool all located under 1 hour away. Whether your perfect holiday is relaxing or high adreneline, North Wales offers it all.
Environmentally Conscious Traveller? We are low impact using renewable energy; offer recycling and composting facilities and guests may access an EV charger.

Nicola was amazing-greeted us when we arrived and showed us around as well as gave us tips on local attractions and amenities! The hut itself was beautiful, immaculate, warm and peaceful-we could see the hills for miles and it was a peaceful getaway that I would thoroughly recommend-it did us the world of good! I would thoroughly recommend this getaway to recharge your batteries and would thoroughly recommend Nicola as a superhost!
Our stay exceeded our expectations! The hut was beautiful and the private shower room was so good, better than ours at home! Nicola was such a great host and her home is beautiful. It was in such a great location, whilst being tucked away - very quiet and idyllic, a much needed break from London. Surrounded my farm land, and the friendliest chickens (Blossom being the cutest). We will definitely be back at some point and 10/10 recommend! Thank you again Nicola - we had the best few days!
Loved my stay at the Shepards Hut. Such a lovely beautiful area with amazing views. The hut was perfectly cosy and had everything you could need for a short trip.
Shhhhh. Don’t tell anyone but this place is wonderful. Beautiful location tucked away in the hills. Fresh eggs from the hens on site. Everything you need for winding down and recharging the batteries. Lots of places to visit nearby and the village has a great cafe to try too.
Absolute fantastic find! I can't rate this place enough. You aren't near any pubs, restaurants etc, you're on a farm so it's perfect for escape. Nicola greeted us and talked us through a few things then left us to it but had reassured us to contact her if we needed anything. The hut was so cosy, warm, inviting, the log burner kept the place heated really well. The kitchen had a two hob top, kettle and toaster, perfect for simple meal prep (we took a stew with us and heated it up on the hob). The bed was very comfortable. There is a compost toilet a few steps away and the shower room wasn't far either. The views, I can't rate enough, absolutely fantastic, the surroundings are amazing. Nicola provided a welcome pack which included freshly laid eggs! and in the 'The Bakehouse' there was more logs, jams, eggs etc which works off honesty (leave the money in the pot). Fantastic stay, don't hesitate to book because you won't regret it!
