Superb Cottage (our 2nd stay), very warm, comfortable and cosy, just like "Home from Home!"

The Owner has thought of everything you might need including good clear instructions for working all appliances etc.

Lovely setting looking over ancient packhorse bridge (now only pedestrian).

Metres away from bus stop but good double glazing cuts out traffic sounds.

Can't wait to our return to Riverside Cottage.

My husband and I were very impressed with Riverside Cottage and had a fabulous week! The Cottage is well-equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable indeed. This beautiful little village is the perfect location to explore Northumberland with ease. The Northumberland Arms and The Running Fox bakery very close by serve excellent food and you will receive great service with a smile. We were greeted with a delicious hamper from the Bakery on arrival. We would have no hesitation in recommending this gorgeous Cottage for a fantastic stay and hope to visit again.

First visit to Northumberland & very impressed. Riverside well positioned to tour the area. Property very homely and comfortable. Beds were great. Only small criticism was lack of outside space, but lovely walks on doorstep to compensate.
In particular would recommend visits to Alnwick / Alnwick Castle, National Trust Cragside, Alnmouth beach, Vindolanda / Housesteads Roman remains, Bamburgh Castle & beach, but tbh everywhere has charm and is of interest.

This is a very lovely cottage, well appointed with excellent facilities. Although situated on the road through the village it is vey quiet indeed.
Buses to Morpeth & Newcastle and Alnwick stop right outside.
Northumberland is a beautiful county with outstanding sites and beaches to visit.
Northumbrian people are so friendly and welcoming and there are lots of events in the Village Hall and the wonderful Gallery with crafts for sale and regular events and classes.

"Best cottage ever" Kids booked this cottage as a Christmas present and their research certainly paid off. Everything was perfect from the location to the cottage itself. The thought that had gone into it by the owners was obvious including the lovely welcome hamper and an excellent guide handbook. Just off the A1 and minutes away by car to fantastic beaches. Our poodle loved it too with lovely walks just outside. Will definitely be returning.

"A marvellous base from which to explore the south of Northumberland" Riverside Cottage offers quality accommodation, perfect for a couple. All the amenities are there and especially helpful are the many laminated guidance notes for the electrical appliances, heating, TV etc. The location sits midway between coast and hill country, a mere 10 minute drive from the fine town of Alnwick. Directly outside the cottage is a most scenic bridge and stretch of the river Coquette. The most amazing artisan bakery and cafe is opposite.

"A little gem" Lovely cottage, well equipped and in a lovely position for the A1 making it easy to get out and about. Lots of lovely places to visit some with free parking, a rarity nowadays, beautiful beaches, good eating places, and a pleasure to drive around on the many somewhat empty roads, and if like us you did not want to drive every day there was an excellent bus service right on your doorstep. The cottage benefited from the Running Fox bakery across the road but we were thankful we only had a week otherwise we would have been a stone heavier than when we arrived, an amazing shop. All in all a lovely cottage in a lovely village surrounded by lovely countryside.
