Overview
Property is in a lovely picturesque canal side setting (Trent and Mersey canal) with lots of country/canal side walks on the doorstep. Lounge balcony with table and chairs overlooking the canal. One of the bedrooms looks at the rolling local countryside hills known as the Common Plot (or aka Mudley Pits) with many fine tree specimens. The property is also very close to the Downs Banks (2 miles) which also has many fine walks .
Many attractions close by, Alton Towers (15 miles), Cannock Chase (10 miles), Trentham Monkey Trail (4 miles), Trentham Park and Gardens and Shrugborough Hall (10 miles) and of course the pottery giants such as Wedgewoods (4 miles), who's ancestral estate and factory shop is also not far away, for fine china lovers. Close to the Cheshire and Shropshire borders. The Staffordshire Moorlands and Peak district is also not far away and makes a nice day trip, particularly to Ashbourne, Ilam (25 miles) which is in the magnificent scenery of the Manifold valley with its Saxon roots and Swiss style cottages. Also try out an excellent spa day at the spa facilities and gym at Moddershall Oaks.
3 excellent golf courses all within local vicinity, one within walking distance. Lovely part of the country with excellent walks. Stone itself is a pretty little market town with Morrisons and the Co-op for self-catering needs, Marks and Spencers and a wealth of excellent local restaurants, all within walking distance of the property for a nice evening out. A train station is also within a brief walking distance. Market held in the town centre with excellent local produce and delicacies. An area rich in history and folklore. Once the centre of Mercia, an ancient kingdom established in AD 665. Check out Wikipedia for an overview of Stone and some of its local history.

Lisa's house is very beautiful, clean and tidy. It has a very good location with easy access to places of interests and nearby towns & cities. The surrounding is also peaceful and quiet, not to mention the lovely walks and jogs my wife and I had along the canal. The whole family really had a pleasant stay and we really owed it to Lisa who had been really a wonderful host. She's only a 'text' away and everything will be fine, thank you very much Lisa. A fabulous spot to stay. The house has all that you need. The canal work into Stone is lovely. Lisa's communication is great. We'll definitely be back - thanks

Hi I was originally born in Stone and have family who come from Stone and realised what a great area this was for holiday lets. It has so many beautiful places and nearby counties that are within a 10 min walk along the canal, or a little further by car. The Peak District, Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens, Cannock Chase, the Downs Banks, itself in Stone are just a brief walk along the canal, the list to visit and things to do is endless. The 2 places in Crete, near Rethymnon are also in a great location with lots to do and direct flights to Chania and Heraklion. Both villas are equidistant about 1 hour 15 mins from either airport and very easy to get to. All three properties are in great locations with great facilities, and we have terrific feedback. I want my guests to have a great stay and do my utmost to ensure they have a lovely break with lots of great suggestions of places to visit, which never fail to hit the mark. The property in Stone we have had for 10 years and those in Crete about 15-17 years. Crete is simply stunning and offers guests great antiquities to visit, beautiful beaches and mountain scenery with local people that are such wonderful hosts. Both villas have stunning mountain and sea views and the house in Stone has views over the canal and is a matter of a few steps to the canal.
