Ethie Lodge is an attractive, first floor apartment that is part of a small, late Victorian terrace that was built by Lord Armstrong of Cragside. It is situated in a Conservation Area in Rothbury.

Overview

Ethie Lodge is packed with character and charm, sleeping up to four people in the heart of the Village of Rothbury which lies on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Ethie Lodge is part of the 'Model Buildings' terrace which was built by Lord Armstrong. It is located a stone's throw from the river Coquet which offers a play park and beautiful walks along the river. To the front of the building is the Village centre with its range of shops, cafes and pubs.

The property offers two bedrooms (one kingsize and one twin), a large bathroom with wc and bath with shower over, open plan kitchen, living/dining area with a log burning stove and private secured yard.

All bed linen and towels are provided as well as tea towels, kitchen roll, toilet rolls and washing up liquid.

Parking is on street near to the property. Ethie Lodge is dog friendly, we welcome one well behaved dog (occasionally two by prior arrangement depending on breed).

Please note that the apartment is accessed via a pedestrian walkway and a flight of stone stair and as such is not suitable for those with limited mobility. We also offer ground floor accommodation in this building so please get in touch if this is what you require.

We had a lovely stay. The location was ideal for the town. We went out for some great meals which were easily walkable. The location was also great for exploring the beaches by car. Brilliant property with everything we needed and the log burner was a great added bonus. Would highly recommend.

3rd time at this property. Very clean, warm and very comfortable. Great value for money!
We have rented several other properties in Rothbury in both winter and summer over the years and this is by far our favourite!

We have stayed in Rothbury many times so we knew what to expect from the area. The village is very quaint with lots of facilities, shops, pubs and restaurants. The cottage we usually stay in was unavailable this year and it was a stroke of luck getting Ethie Lodge, we absolutely loved it. It’s a first and second floor cottage so if you have difficulty with stairs this may not suit you but for us it was great. The elevated position meant that we had lovely views from all windows, especially the bathroom Velux when fully opened. The bathroom is large too with a very good shower over the bath. The lounge/diner was a really cozy space with a great wood burning stove and being linked to the kitchen area was perfect to continue socialising whilst cooking. The main bedroom was huge with a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage and a dressing table. The kitchen was very well equipped and although we didn’t use them, there was a washing machine and tumble drier available in a handy utility area off the entrance hall. We felt very much at home, we will definitely be back and I have already recommended it to several friends and relatives. Thank you very much for allowing us to use your beautiful home.

We had a wonderful stay at Ethie Lodge. The accommodation is in a great location for local areas of interest, with great views of the hills in the distance. It is a stone’s throw away from the village square, National Trust Cragside and some great countryside walks from the doorstep. We found the village to have lots of life in it, with people always milling around, and all you need with a butchers, convenience store and most importantly the village bakery! The accommodation is very well presented, spacious and airy with lots of light. I could not recommend it more, and very much plan for a return visit at some point.
