An extraordinary escape from the ordinary world!
Dracup's Cottage is a work of art combining modern facilities with traditional and unique features for a comfortable stay in the heart of Shropshire
Overview
Dracup's Cottage is a traditional 1860's railwayman's cottage. Each room features its own theme: Hobbit's Lair connects our guests with nature for a restful sleep, Platform 3 Breakfast Room takes you over to the fine era of steam railway travel, while The Knights' Cavern is a step back in time (and underground!) to a medieval banquet hall. Alice in Wonderland lounge provides a comfy two-seater sofa and many secrets to discover. After a day of exploring the cottage and the local area you can freshen up in a rainfall shower straight from Captain Nemo's submarine.
The cottage is cosy and warm thanks to its central heating (underfloor downstairs), and offers a perfect space for couples or single travellers. It is fully equipped, with everything you may need for a home comfort. All kitchenware is provided, as are beautiful beddings and fluffy towels. Wi-Fi is available throughout the cottage and there are two smart TV's for a little bit of entertainment (although I highly recommend going out to the good old-fashioned Bridgnorth cinema)
Thanks to its location, only 2 minutes' walk to Bridgnorth High Street, the cottage is an ideal base for exploring the local area. Scenic rural walks are nearby, the world famous Severn Valley Railway is just across the road. Bridgnorth is a traditional market town with an abundance of pubs and restaurants, tea rooms and boutiques. It is located in the heart of Shropshire and never far from the county's historical sites, such as Ironbridge, hill walking or fishing opportunities.
Holiday Let Bridgnorth provides a high standard of customer service with a personal touch. We are here to help and assist before, during and after your stay. If you wish to surprise someone special, or simply treat yourself, there are various packages (available at an extra cost) to suit any occasion and budget.
Regrettably, we do not have any designated parking space, however a reasonably priced car park is available close by.

My husband and I bought Dracup's Cottage in 2019. It took two full years to bring it back into shape. We focused on preserving all original artwork by Antony Dracup, one of the previous owners, an artist who completely transformed the inside of the cottage. AS we intended to let Dracup's Cottage, we also added modern day comforts to ensure our guests have everything they need during their holidays. I feel that our cottage is one of Bridgnorth's hidden gems, a part of the town's history, and as such we wanted to share it with wider audience. As a host, I aim to give all our guests a unique and personal experience. I love reading all the entries in our guest book, it is super satisfying to know that our guests appreciate the two years' work as well as my daily input and leave with very special memories.
