Villa Taurus, Uzumlu, Fethiye, Sw Turkey
Villa with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and shared pool in Fethiye, Turkey
From £889 per week
Fabulous luxury 3 bed 3 bath villa on quiet exclusive development , with huge balconies, garden and stunning views, A/C, BBQ, shared 110sq mts pool near traditional Turkish village and historic sites.
Overview
A beautiful house sleeping 6 to 7 (including travel cot) on an exclusive quiet secluded private development with glorious mountain views and big pool shared with just 4 other villas. It is within easy striking (by car) distance of many superb archeological sites.
The villa and its location is particularly suited to people wishing to have a secluded peaceful holiday.
It suits walkers and those wanting to lie in the sun equally. Within walking distance (8 mins) of a traditional Turkish village with shops and restaurants. It is surrounded by lovely gardens designed to a high specification. Full air conditioning, 2 ensuite bedrooms with 3rd bedroom and bathroom, private parking, a patio and private garden area as well as extensive balconies. The pool is 3 times the size normally offered with villas (110 sq m). The cluster of villas is easily accessible but tucked away in a private location with lovely woodland walks straight from the doorstep.
The villa is not suited to the party lover (loud noise etc isn't appreciated by our neighbours!) although much fun can be found in the village. It is our home, not just a rented house, and the furnishings etc reflect that. We do not accept parties of young people nor single sex parties on stag/hen outings.
Inside Villa Taurus
The main living area is open plan and spacious with a large mezzanine study above and a "cathedral ceiling" in polished cedar. Furnishings and fittings are of a high quality and feature an open fireplace. There are books and DVDs for guests use, guides, cookery books, and of course - broadband. The kitchen has dishwasher, large fridge, gas hob and electric oven. There are views all round from the extensive balconies both to the living/dining/kitchen area but also from the main bedrooms. The pool is large (110sq metres), and the gardens are extensive, planted with fruit trees, and with a waterfall feature.
around Villa Taurus
The villa is only 5 minutes drive from the 5BC Roman ruins of Kadyanda (Cadianda) to which there is a walk through the forest. A quick downhill walk takes you to the attractive traditional Turkish village of Uzumlu which has most regular shops, a selection of restaurants, a weekly market, and an hourly bus to the town of Fethiye so a car is not absolutely essential, but is desirable in the height of summer, and if you want to make the most of the surrounding sites of interes..

WE ALL HAD A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY AND THE VILLA MORE THAN LIVED UP TO OUR EXPECTATIONS, BEING A BEAUTIFUL, WELL-EQUIPED, SPACIOUS AND HOMELY HOME. THE SETTING OF PINE FOREST AND MOUNTAINS GAVE BREATH-TAKING VIEWS AND SHADY WALKS - THE TRIP TO THE VILLAGE FOR BREAD EACH DAY WAS A FAVOURITE, (5 MINUTES SHORTCUT, 25 MINUTES SCENIC ROUTE), OFTEN ENCOUNTERING A TORTOISE OR TWO! THE SURROUNDING GARDENS AND POOL WERE LOVINGLY TENDED ON A DAILY BASIS BY A LOCAL WHO WAS A FOUNT OF INFORMATION ON PLACES TO SEE, BEST SHOPS, RESTAURANTS ETC, AND ADVISED US TO KEEP THE GATE SHUT TO STOP THE GOATS FROM EATING THE FLOWERS!
tHERE IS STILL SO MUCH YET TO SEE AND DO THAT WE HAVE ALREADY BOOKED NEXT YEAR AT VILLA TAURUS, A PERFECTLY APPOINTED VILLA THAT WE WONT BE RECOMMENDING TO FRIENDS BECAUSE WE WANT IT ALL TO OURSELVES!!

Villa Taurus exceeded all of our expectations. The villa is extremely clean and well maintained, comfortably furnished and with a lovely well-equipped kitchen. It really feels like a home. The shared pool is an excellent size and depth and is beautifully maintained. The garden areas around the villa and those surrounding it are planted with an array of plants and brightly coloured flowers complimented by areas of lush green lawns. The view of the mountains from the villa balcony is spectacular and cannot adequately be captured in words or in photographs. The villas mountain/forest location is wonderful with amazing beaches only a relatively short distance away and ancient Lycian ruins literally on the doorstep! The villa provided a perfect base for one of the most enjoyable holidays we have had. We will definately be returning!

from Charlotte of Balham, London - "I had a wonderful time. The villa is spacious, attractive, really comfortable and well kitted-out. The views are stunning and the pool a good “swimmers” size. It’s the sort of place you can do as much or as little as you like, in a very relaxing atmosphere”.
From Stephen, of North London"It was perfect. You have really thought of everything. The house was brilliant, very luxurious, and we spent a lot of time on the balacony and next to the pool. There wasn't a single thing we needed that could have been provided. As a result we did lots of cooking of all the ingredients found locally and didn't actually eat out very much. We found a couple of good restaurants on the seafront at Fethiye. The Kadyanda ruins up the hill (past the tombs) were a real highlight as was Patara beach. We went up to Kadyanda in the evening and it was really spectacular without anyone around. The Patara ruins (next to the beach) are worth a look. I definitely want to go and see more of Turkey after that. As you say the history around there is brilliant and I love the way you just come across all the ruins rather than them all having sanitised visitor centres like in the UK!"

I am a semi-retired accountant, widowed recently, my husband was a TV cameraman. We both had travelled extensively for our jobs - my main career was in international development. We chose a home in Turkey as it is a perfect mixture of east and west, a gentle fascinating culture with a very settled climate.
