VICINITY
Baan Sammi Nature Resort is situated between two rural villages. Huge rice-fields, numerous irrigation ditches, canals and some streams hemmed by natural vegetation, scattered small rural villages with wooden houses and farm gardens are characteristic features of this not much developed landscape.
This area is part of the Chiang Mai intermountain basin, a widely broadened valley of the Ping River, little more than 300 meters above sea-level. The basin is about 25 kilometers wide and delimited by the western mountain range (foothills of Doi Suthep bordering the City of Chiang Mai), eastern mountain range (foothills bordering the district village of Doi Saket), and northern hills (beyond San Sai and Doi Saket with the Mae Kuang Dam). The hills and mountains can be seen from the resort at clear sight, nearly every day except on hazy days during hot season.
Baan Sammi, and the access roads to Chiang Mai and Doi Saket, are located in an area which is not prone to flood.
Small shops for daily life supply can be found in all villages around, the closest shop is 50 m distant, other shops are about 2 km distant). Local markets, open daily or on certain days of the week, can be found in Ban Pa Pong, Ban Bo Hin, Doi Saket, and in many other villages, at distances between 5 and 8 km.
There are small food-stalls and restaurants in many villages, mostly opened on certain hours every day. The next food stalls are about 2 km distant. Thai restaurants can be found in and between villages, most often located on country roads or higher ranking roads. Also, several restaurants with western food can be found in the district of Doi Saket, the nearest about 7 km distant.
In the district village, Doi Saket, there are several banks, a post office and a hospital.

"Booked for a week, but easily could have stayed a month. Sammi and Dieter were great hosts, and the space was amazing. With no AC, it gets a little hot in the middle of the day, but we were usually out and about at that time anyways. You will absolutely need a vehicle to get around, as it is quite far from the city centre. The property is exactly as shown in the pictures, and is a truly serene place to spend your time in Chiang Mai."
"Für mich die schönste Unetrkunft in Thailand. Mitten in der Natur, durchdachte und interessante Bungalows, abgeschirmt, absolut ruhig und entspannend. Bis nach Chinag Mai sind es allerdings kanpp 30 min mit dem Motorbike. Dafür kann man aber auch absolute Ruhe und Entspannung im außergewöhlichen Ambiente finden."
"I was a bit concerned that the house (moonlight pavillion) would not quite be as great as what I saw in the pictures, but upon arrival I was amazed at just how beautiful the space was and how much character it had. It was even better! The only thing that was disappointing was that I had not reserved it for longer! There is a community area for dining/hanging out if you feel like being social and during my stay there was a great group of people at the other house locations and I feel like I've made some life-long friendships, while there. Sam is an awesome and fun host(and great cook!) and Dieter is incredibly responsive to any questions or issues that may arise. I was sad to leave their place as well as the beautiful countryside of Doi Saket; but I'll definitely stay here again in the future!"
"This is a very good calm place for relaxing in the nature. We spent 12 days here but we would love to spend more time if possible. You will be surrounded by village, rice fields and mountains. At first sight, it may look little bit shabby, but after we completely fall in love with here. The building we stay is very separate from other buildings. And we had a good balanced privacy, no one bother us, but we also had few nice food parties together with Sami and other residents in the public area. We swim almost everyday in the pond, water is clean and fresh. You can also use boat to relax. They have many birds and beautiful butterflies everywhere, different types of bamboos and a lovely dog named Panda. Dieter is a very respectful and helpful owner, he always calm and polite. Sami is an amazing owner also, very funny and outgoing. If you don’t have car or bike, it’s possible to call Uber and Grab here. There is one restaurants directly at the opposite road side, they cook tasty local food. HllFk :))"
"This is a best kept secret! Secluded, peaceful, beautiful. The place is excellent, with a lot of thought and love put in. Very comfortable, with a multitude of reflective spaces. Note there is a new restaurant across the street, and local shops a short walk away if you need more supplies. Thank you!"
"Sammi and Dieter were amazing hosts! The place was a bit hard to find the first time, but using Uber/Grab made it much simpler. I loved the quiet area and it was great having my own kitchen and balcony. Thank you again, Sammi and Dieter, for your hospitality, the home cooked meals, and for taking me to the city and helping me rent a scooter!"
"Peaceful paradise with warmheart hosts and lovely animals. i recommend you. staying here would be great experience to wash your fatigue and reboost your life energy."
"The place is gourgeous and quiet. Using Google maps we found out a shorter way to get to the main road, so we were just 20 min away from the city. The house is small but very comfortable, and Samram was available whenever we need something else that was not in the house - as well as provide us with excellent advice on touring and operation of attractions. We recommend!"
"This is the best Airbnb experience I have ever had. My stay in the Tai Saeng Chan Pavilion has truly been a unique and pleasant holiday. Sam and Dieter are attentive and caring hosts. Most importantly, if you want or need privacy, you will be left alone. However, if you are a social person, they will go out of their way to make you feel like you are at home. Concerning the property, it looks just like the pictures that were posted; and it is very clean, unique; and it is very obvious that it was built by someone who has an eye for detail. Also, it is evident that it was built with love, and it has been well taken care of. Concerning the area, it is a very quiet area. I rode my bike often, I went for walks often, and I swam in the lake almost daily. Most importantly, your day to day needs are located nearby. You can walk or ride a bike quite easily in this area. Concerning the hosts, Sam and Dieter are very professional, attentive, and kind hosts. The property is for people who want to: 1.) Get away from it all. 2.) Get back to nature. 3.) Live a simple life. In closing, this property is a hidden treasure in Chiang Mai. You will not be disappointed by choosing to stay here."
