VICINITY
Our property is situated between two rural villages. Huge rice-fields, numerous irrigation ditches, canals and some streams hemmed by natural vegetation, scattered small rural villages with wooden houses and farm gardens are characteristic features of this not much developed landscape.
This area is part of the Chiang Mai intermountain basin, a widely broadened valley of the Ping River, little more than 300 meters above sea-level. The basin is about 25 kilometers wide and delimited by the western mountain range (foothills of Doi Suthep bordering the City of Chiang Mai), eastern mountain range (foothills bordering the district village of Doi Saket), and northern hills (beyond San Sai and Doi Saket with the Mae Kuang Dam). The hills and mountains can be seen from the resort at clear sight, nearly every day except on hazy days during hot season.
Small shops for daily life supply can be found in all villages around, the closest shop is 50 m distant, other shops are about 2 km distant). Local markets, open daily or on certain days of the week, can be found in Ban Pa Pong, Ban Bo Hin, Doi Saket, and in many other villages, at distances between 5 and 8 km.
There are small food-stalls and restaurants in many villages, mostly opened on certain hours every day. The next food stalls are about 2 km distant. Thai restaurants can be found in and between villages, most often located on country roads or higher ranking roads. Also, several restaurants with western food can be found in the district of Doi Saket, the nearest about 7 km distant.
In the district village, Doi Saket, there are several banks, a post office and a hospital.

"Plumeria Bungalow was MUCH bigger than we expected. All you need for a self-catering and relaxing experience. Includes aircon in the huge bedroom and a washing machine in the bungalow as well. SO relaxing sitting on the terrace overlooking the pond. Wifi was excellent. Power goes off sometimes when it's windy, but while we were there was quickly restored. We have visited Thailand many times so are not fazed when this happens. There are many local small shops nearby, but you definitely need transport (we had a scooter) to get to the market and surrounding places. The hosts, Sammi and Dieter, didn't intrude on our privacy which was great. Sammi is very flamboyant and we thought that he would be full-on with us. Dieter is quieter, but both just let us be, which suited us. Recommended for a peaceful stay!"
"If you want quiet restful place away from the city, this is perfect. It is a bit tricky to get there, but you want to stay there and enjoy not going in and out so much this is a perfect place. Everything was perfect for me. Thank you so much!"
"The garden has a strong energy, bird sound butterfly fly especially cute dog ponda, here is very good meditation environment, look forward to the next see"
"Sammy and Dieter are great host! They were very welcoming, very nice. We had great times together chatting over coffee and tea. They all made sure that we had all we needed and welcomed us warmly. The place is peaceful and quiet, perfect for people who want to avoid the crowded city. However, the place is 20km away from the city so if you prefer to hang out all the time in the city, this place might be a long commute for you and expensive since it is not easy to get public transport to go there, except if you have a motorbike like we had, which makes life easier. The house is large and great, especially if you want to cook as well. All the furnitures and amenities are there. We had a great stay. There are some local shops around to get food and snacks. The area is great and peaceful. We will go back to Sammy's next time we go to Chiang mai! We recommend this place!"
"Staying with Sammi and Dieter was one of the best things we did in Thailand. Their property is a little outside the city, which was a nice change of pace for us after traveling for several months. It also felt a little more authentic than staying in the super touristy parts of a city. It has a big beautiful garden and pond, and a gazebo which was great for relaxing at. As a host, Sammi helped us with all aspects of our stay including helping with tours, renting motorbikes, and even cooked us barbecue dinners a couple times. The bungalow itself was perfect: clean, spacious, a full kitchen and beautiful. We cannot thank you enough for our great stay, Sammi! We'll see you the next time we're in Thailand."
