Overview
Our elegantly-designed front-line townhouse at La Torre overlooks the 15th hole of the golf course.
It is located in a quieter part of the resort, ideal for golfers or young families, only 100 metres to two of the many children’s play areas and just eight minutes walk from the nearest of the Resort’s 22 swimming pools. Another eight minutes and you’re in the resort centre, where you can wine and dine in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel or one of the many bars and restaurants. (Total distance from the house to the resort centre is 1.2km.)
The fully air-conditioned property has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upstairs has a super king size bed, whilst downstairs has two singles. However, these can be pushed together to make another super king size bed if you prefer. All three mattresses were new in April 2022.
As well as air conditioning, we have ceiling fans in the lounge and both the bedrooms. There is also central heating throughout for those refreshingly cooler winter nights.
There's 50Mb free wireless broadband available throughout the house and a telephone for free calls to other properties on the Resort.
There's a library of over 400 films (action, comedies and cartoons), books and games to keep all the family entertained, plus beach balls, tennis racquets and a couple of portable sun loungers for use around the pools or at the beach.
We supply a sat nav with a number of pre-installed points of interest, such as recommended bars, restaurants, beaches, the cities of Murcia and Cartagena and even the nearest hospital.
Downstairs
One bedroom is downstairs, plus a shower room, incorporating washbasin and toilet. In the lounge area there's a leather corner suite, satellite TV with UK channels, a CD player, DVD/video player and a selection of over three hundred films, CDs and books to cater for all tastes.
The dining area, with oak table and chairs, has doors leading out to a patio, with its fantastic views of the golf course. You can dine alfresco or simply relax with a good book in the shade on the day-bed. Glass curtains allow year-round enjoyment of this area.
The newly-fitted kitchen includes an oven, hob, extractor fan, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, cafetière, coffee pod machine and dishwasher. The washing machine is outside, in the enclosed boiler area.
Upstairs
The main bedroom is upstairs, with patio doors leading to the upstairs terrace and its superb vistas across the golf-course, palm trees and lake. On the terrace you'll find a table (with umbrella), four chairs, four new sun-loungers and a barbecue. The upstairs bathroom includes a bath (with shower), vanity basin and bidet.
There is an Xbox One and iPod dock/charger in the upstairs bedroom and a bluetooth speaker in the lounge.
We include a FREE WELCOME PACK of food and drink for all bookings of seven days or more.
The property has an Energy Performance Certificate rating of E. Please note that this property is strictly No Smoking and that we do not offer long term rentals.
The Resort
La Torre Golf Resort is on the Costa Cálida in Murcia, a sun-soaked region in south-east Spain. It is only minutes from the golden beaches of the Mediterranean and the safe, warm waters of the Mar Menor (Little Sea). It is just 15 minutes’ drive from Murcia International Airport and 70 minutes from Alicante airport, making it easily accessible from anywhere in the UK.
La Torre is an excellent location for holidays all the year round, with Murcia and the Costa Cálida enjoying 320 days of sunshine and average temperatures of 21º C. The grand entrance to the resort is lined with palm trees, water features and benches. Spread throughout the landscaped complex are fountains, lush plants and lemon, lime and palm trees that give the resort an authentic Mediterranean feel.
The centrepiece of the resort is the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. But it is not all about golf. You can take a dip in one of the 22 luxury swimming pools on the resort, practice your serve on the tennis courts or have fun with the kids at one of the children’s playgrounds. If you want a break from the action, you can relax over a glass of the excellent local wine or enjoy fine dining in one of the several bars and restaurants.
The surrounding area
The Murcia region has one of the most agreeable climates in Spain, with temperatures averaging 21º C and around 320 days of sunshine every year.
The resort is a 20 minute drive from the safe, sandy beaches of the Mar Menor (Little Sea), a warm natural lagoon sheltered from the main Mediterranean Sea by a long sand bank. Along the coastline of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean you will find miles of golden sand, shallow waters and hidden coves, enough to try a different beach for every day of your holiday.
Beaches
Los Alcázares, on the Mar Menor, has some of the finest beaches on the Costa Cálida (The Warm Coast). Several have won awards for their high standards. Along the promenade there are various bars, cafes and restaurants selling local tapas, along with play areas for children. A short walk inland is the centre of Los Alcázares town itself.
Further along the Mar Menor are the fine sandy beaches at San Pedro del Pinatar. If you’ve had enough sand, try the village’s famous therapeutic mud which are believed to prevent rheumatism and arthritis.
Or there’s Santiago de la Ribera, whose wide, newly refurbished promenade leads on to a sandy beach, with many beachfront cafés and restaurants to sit and relax. You can also take a relaxing ferry trip from here across the Mar Menor to La Manga.
For a little more seclusion, try the hidden gem of Torre de la Horadada, characterised by small private coves and warm clear waters.
Sights and Shops
For a glimpse of authentic Spanish urban life, take a short drive to Murcia, the bustling capital of the region. Murcia is full of interesting cultural and tourist places to visit. Its glorious cathedral is a powerful reminder of Spain’s rich history, while the region’s artistic and historic wealth is on display at the city’s numerous museums, such as the Archaeological Museum, the Fine Arts Museum or the Salzillo Museum.
For less lofty desires, Murcia’s wide sunny avenues are lined with a great selection of both Spanish shops and familiar European high street names. Alternatively, around the backstreets towards the cathedral is a network of winding lanes brimming with exclusive little shops and charming boutiques.
Also well worth a visit is the historic port of Cartagena. Originally an important Roman port, it is now a busy cosmopolitan town. You can take a boat tour to see the ancient maritime sights, historic fort and hilltop castles, amble around the town taking in its numerous cultural and historic landmarks – or just head to the shops: Cartagena offers a selection of typical Spanish shops and high street brands.
Family Fun
The long tradition of tourism in this part of Spain means that visitors are well catered for. There are numerous theme parks, natural attractions and tourist centres suiting all tastes and all budgets. They include:
Lorca Castle, where you can travel back in time and encounter the roman world. It is a Roman-themed day out for the family that both kids and adults will enjoy. Educational as well as entertaining, there are many things to discover, learn and interact with.
Sierra Espuña, south west of Murcia city, is one of Spains renowned natural parks. It is a wilderness of dramatic peaks and pine forests, offering scenic drives, serious climbing and superb walking.
For a classic theme park experience, visit Terra Mitica. It is full of rides, stalls, shows and other entertainment for all the family – but be prepared to get wet!
The action at Terra Natura is split in to four different areas, America, Asia, Europe and Pangea. You can see how animals live in there natural habitat and discover the people and places of each region. There are also various shows and entertainers and an aqua park that is open in the summer.
Aqualandia, as the name suggests, is a water park, with rides for all ages. There is a childrens water Adventureland that has numerous slides and activities. For the adults, theres a selection of more daring rides.

Loved it!! This is really home from home! It has all you need, and more for a very comfortable and relaxing holiday. Mike was extremely accommodating and great at all communication. We enjoyed our holiday very much and would definitely recommend this house to anyone wishing to holiday in La Torre!

5 Stars in all categories and well deserved too. I was going to give zeros because I don't want the property so fully booked that I can't get a future booking myself! Seriously though, it was excellent. The owner has just about thought of everything required to make it a home from home stay. A beautifully appointed town house overlooking the golf course and situated in a quiet residential street with all properties maintained to a very high standard.
We arrived very late in the evening and Mike, the owner, had thoughtfully provided more than adequate grocery essentials to tide over until we could shop. A kindness very much appreciated.
It is now firmly entrenched in my list of places to go for a relaxing break.

Plenty of beaches within a 20 minute drive 2 village a few minutes drive with good eating places.
The resort is a great place to relax very quite and safe supermarket on site where you can buy all your essentials and more, prices are not to bad either.

The property was First Class and i would recommend it to anyone

The house had everything we needed, was very clean and well maintained. Our teenage daughters appreciated the selec tion of dvds and internet, and having a choice of excellent pools to visit on the resort to swim in. Although the pools were a short walk from the property we were fine with this. The supermarket on site was quite good and prices were about the same as in England. The resort is a bit out of the way, however, road links are excellent for day trips out to the Coast and we enjoyed a day out to Cartegna. Mike the owner was very helpful and information about the property and area provided before our visit was excellent. Bertie who met us on arrival was also very helpful. A very good relaxing holiday.
