The exterior terrace enables you to have the most beautiful sunset experience!

Overview

The apartment is 5min walking distance from the city marina, where you can find boat taxis which can lead guests to the soft sandy beaches on the beautiful islands lying in the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
The old town which has been carefully restored, is also close by the apartment. One of the most popular areas of downtown Faro, the traditional shopping streets and a choice of bars and restaurants, is also at the doorstep.

DISTANCES
From Ria Formosa and the beaches: 15 minutes by boat.
From the Faro Island: 15 minutes.
From the bus station: 600 metres.
From the train station: 150 metres.
From the Forum Algarve shopping and leisure centre: 1 km.
From Lisbon: 345 km.
From Seville: 210 km

The apartment is located in the city centre within an area
classified as historic. Merely 100 meters from the bus station and 80 meters from the train station, and only a 10 minute drive to Faro International Airport, this is an ideal area.

There are many historical places of interest to enjoy. We suggest that you visit o Largo da Sé, which is surrounded by an exquisite 18 th century architecture. Behind the Sé, you can find the Archaeological Museum , and the Algarve Regional Museum situated at the Pontinha. A very popular attraction is the Igreja do Carmo, where you will come across a curious chapel with human bones. In this same location you can marvel at some stork families, which nest here and remain throughout the year.
You can also appreciate a neo-Arabic construction of the 20 th century building that is home to the "Banco de Portugal" (Portugal Bank). Just down the road from here, you can not miss visiting the famous Rua de Santo Antonio for all your shopping requirements.
Estoi is 8 kilometres from Faro and is a perfect example of typical Algarvian architecture. Here you can witness the breathtaking views of the coast outlined by a characteristic white stretch of the Algarvian buildings, and castles pertaining to the 18 th and 19 th centuries with their baroque gardens. Close by you can visit the Milreu Ruins, an ancient Roman village of the 1 st century

What a fabulous little find. What we would love to do is say bad things about the apartment so no one else would book it and we could have it all to ourselves.
The only reason for the lack of 5 stars for cleanliness is that my wife is a cleaning guru,(hell to live with,ho ho.).
Gigi and Rod are the most wonderful hosts, the apartment is great with a fabulous balcony and is so convenient for everything.

Rod makes a wonderful host. He went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable in his and Gigis beautiful apartment. He even sorted out a grumpy taxi driver for us! Most of the good comments have been said before in other reviews and I can only reiterate on the cleanliness and comfort of this apartment.

We used the public transport system on a daily basis and found the travel costs extremely reasonable. How about this as a bonus for oldies - it was quite a nice surprise to find that if your are 65 or over and have your passport to hand at the train station you qualify for half price fares. Time tables were simple to read and prices per trip were there in print too. No nasty hidden surprises like we get over here. Likewise the buses.

We made full use of the spacious balcony when we werent exploring the area. Our main source of amusement was the frequent fly-pasts of the many storks that precariously perch and nest on chimney pots and even tops of street lamps. Seeing them fly back from the Ria Formosa with their beaks stuffed with twigs and vegetation made us laugh and wonder how they could see where they were going. Sadly none of us managed to capture them on camera but we still have the memories.

We found everyone from shop-keepers to the local neighbours very friendly and helpful. Had no problems with the language as nearly everyone spoke some English.

We did take a day trip to Albefeira, (well we had to having come all this way) but found it too touristy for us, we much preferred exploring Faro and the Old city. Olhao (pronounced Ollyow) had a wonderful Saturday market and from there we took the boat to Farol Island where we enjoyed a leisurely lunch before relaxing in the welcome shade for a while. In the late afternoon we caught a water taxi back to Faro itself.

The weather was fantastic with temperatures up in the low 30s c. Throughout the whole weeks stay we only sullied 1 cooking pan and lived on salads and copious amounts of the scrumptious fruits available in every store whether large or small. Eating out was not expensive, especially if you checked out the restaurants in the side streets away from the more popular areas. Our motto was "if you saw the locals eating there then it must be ok"

We had a wonderful week, full of happy memories. Everything written about the apartment proved to be true. Personally, I would love to come back and would not hesitate in recommending this little gem to any of our friends.

A convenient location with everything we needed for a holiday. Beds are comfortable, good shower and lots of space. There are views of the sea from most of the windows. We stayed in a windy week in early spring but the electric heaters warmed us up when necessary. We cooked quite often and had everything that we needed. I really appreciated the small food pack left for us, even though we didnt request it.

Excellent location, close to station, shops and the old town. Everthing within easy walking distance.
Apartment well equipped and we were delighted when the owners met us at the station and gave us a guided tour of the apartment. The terrace gives good views towards the sea and you can just see the airport in the distance.
I think we will be coming here again!

We had an excellent holiday in Faro.Rod and Virginia were very welcoming and helpful and they also went out of their way by offering to take us to different locations. They treated us more like friends than clients and we really enjoyed their company. The apartment was very clean and had a great interior, a beautiful terrace and the location was in close proximity to the city center, marina and the rail/bus station and a great range of restaurants, which had great food. We had a nice time walking in the town, and visiting near by places which were only half an hour away by rail. We recommend Faro as a great destination to visit, and to stay at Rod and Virginias apartment.

What a find! The apartment was excellent, furnished to a very high standard with very comfortable beds and facilities. The owners Rodrigo and Gigi could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Ideally located for Faro Sites, Shops, Ferries, Bus and Train Station it is an excellent base from which to explore. The very large terrace is ideal for relaxing and al fresco dining. It also has wi-fi and a portable TV in the master bedroom. No complaints at all, we will definitely stay here again!

"This appartment was very nice. Its located close from the center and from the marina and just in the street in front of the train station which is very good if you want to see towns around Faro. We advise you going to Tavira which about 20mn away by train. Its a charming city whith an island beach too. There we found an awesome restaurant : Tavira lounge restaurant: rua Goncalo Velho N16-18- Tavira. Its right on the border of the river. you must discover this place. From Faro, we took the ferry boat to visit lilha deserta, the most beautiful beach around, ilha de Farol (its better to take a taxi boat to come back than wait the ferry a long time in advance to make sure youll have a room in it even if you already bought your ticket). Talking about the appartement, theres a cheap and good snack just right down the building. The owners are nice. and you can find a supermarket Pingo Doce 15mn away by walk Theres also many small grocery stores around. The appartement is very big and the terrace awesome. You can see beautiful sunset from it. THeres a big and fully equiped kitchen where you can cook and 2 big bedrooms. Theres also air conditioned that can be good sometimes, internet connection and all the cartoon channel you can wish when you travel with a devil son that doesnt want to let you sleep at morning. I recommend going to this place and would go back again if I come back to Faro."
