“Villa Sete Cottage Sete Mares ” is located in Praia das Maças-Colares, 10 km from SINTRA, world heritage site declared by UNESCO. it’s a small village hanging on the vertical cliffs over the sea formed by little white-washed houses, trimmed in blue, that seem to cling to the rocks over the sea, ending in a very small beach with a natural swimming pool. With a strong fishing traditions, Praia das Maças is a popular place both in Summer and Winter, due to the beautiful view it offers. where you can go by foot along the cliffs. There you will find restaurants where you can taste the very appreciated Portuguese gastronomy (fish and seafood), one of the best in the world, cafes, bars, discotheques as well as shops selling local crafts and a swimming-pool with sea water.

3 Km from Colares, a demarcated wine-growing region, famous for its excellent wine, which can be tasted in “Adega Regional de Colares”. Near several others white sandy beaches like Adraga (3 Km), considered in 2003 the most beautiful beach in Europe, Praia Grande (2 Km), Aguda (1,5 Km), Magoito (4 Km) and Praia da Ursa, a naturist beach near Cabo da Roca, 4 km of distance, the westernmost point on the European continent, defined by the poet Camões as “where the land ends and the sea begins”. In 15 km far you can find Guincho/Cascais where the world championship of windsurf is held and famous for the kyte surf. Sintra, world heritage site declared by UNESCO, is 10 Km far from and has historic monuments like Moorish Castle, Monastery of Capuchos, Monserrate Palace, National Palace, Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Seteais Palace and fabulous botanical gardens. Robert Southey, English poet describes Sintra as the most bless, spot on the whole inhabitable globe.

We loved our stay at Rosa's beautiful villa. She has become a friend.
We hired a car but I think if you enjoy a walk it's not necessary as the beautiful beaches and restaurants are close by. Also lots of shops to buy snacks, milk etc. The Portuguese people are helpful and friendly. We will be returning

Rosa was an incredibly welcoming host, the place was perfect for our needs. The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk from an incredible beach. Rosa recommended a great local restaurant which we enjoyed immensely. Would stay again.

Beautiful villa and pool in a quiet town close to some of the most beautiful castles, the dinosaur footprints are worth a visit. Rosa is a wonderful host and did everything in her power to make our stay amazing. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday with lots of local cuisine I would highly recommend the Villa Sete - Cottage Sete Mares.

This is a beautiful villa in a lovely part of Portugal and we would highly recommend it for a holiday. Rosa the owner was there to greet us when we arrived and made us very welcome. In the villa we had a welcome bowl of fruit, a bottle of wine and a lot of basics provided so although we were too late for the shops we could have a drink and relax straightaway.
The villa was very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. There were a lot of towels provided and these were changed mid week so we definitely didn't need to bring any.
The pool was lovely and as stated in the description this was private for our villa with plenty of sun loungers a table and chairs and umbrella.
We also had a patio area outside the villa which again had tables and chairs and an umbrella and this was the perfect spot for breakfast and lunch.
We did hire a car and although you could walk to the village the car was needed for exploring the area and for visiting the supermarket. The nearest large supermarket was in Colares which is only 5 mins away by car but there was also a Lidl in Sintra which was only 20 mins drive.
We visited many places and would recommend taking the tram to Sintra and visiting the palace in Sintra but pay for the bus up to the palace because it is a long uphill walk.
We tried a lot of restaurants and would recommend the Mateus in the village , which is good value and had craft beers and specialist Gins, and the restaurant at the end of Praia Grande beach, Bar Do Fundo, which had lovely food including seafood , nice desserts and an amazing view and sunset.

agosto en sintra, van: CARLOS Y EVELYN, 27/Aug/2013 (over een verblijf in augustus 2013) Casa perfecta para 4 personas + perro coqueta, limpia y completa, hemos pasado una semana con el clásico tiempo de la zona (temperaturas suaves) y poder disfrutar de la piscina y un sueño reparador, la zona es muy tranquila...la playa está a un paso, rodeada de excelentes restaurantes para disfrutar de la gastronomía portuguesa, la dueña (Rosa), una persona maravillosa, nos atendía ante cualquier duda con su simpatía y hospitalidad, recomendable al 100% (calidad/precio), estamos pensando en volver de nuevo....

We had our own pool where we spent most of our holiday chilling out in this perfect sun trap. Rosa was always there to hand if we needed anything a perfect host.
