Casa Mateus - Aregos Douro Valley

Casa Mateus is a two story cottage located near the River Douro, in the municipality of Baião. Besides the 4 bedrooms, the house has a Living /TV room with satellite TV, a fully equipped kitchen where you can easily prepare your meals, a private museum room, and two toilets (in the first floor the toilet is equipped with an hydromassage column).
The house can be accessed by car, train (the station of Aregos is 50m from the house and there are direct trains to the city of Oporto) or boat (the Aregos pier is just in front of the house). If you have or rent a boat to travel along the Douro river this is the right place to stay, since you can tie your boat for free in the pier and there is a ramp for boats in the front of the house.
The garden has all the facilities to allow you to take advantage from the very good solar orientation of the house. The propriety is also equipped with a wooden barbecue and wooven.
In the front of the house you can catch a public boat to reach the other river bank. There you can find the public SPA of Caldas de Aregos, the exterior municipality swimming pool and public tennis courts to rent.
The house is cleaned prior to your stay and is equipped with linen and towels.

Places to visit in the surroundings: Fundação Eça de Queirós, the Romanic route, The Jacinto Ways (a trail that connects the station of Aregos to the Farm of Tormes), the historical train line of Douro, the city of Régua (capital of the Douro Valley) and the Douro museum (located at Régua and accessible by train).
