A lovely clean and well equiped villa (especially the DVD player and DVDs for my 16 year old). Very good location for shops and resturants in Dalyan without the need for a car so made it extra relaxing. Highly recommended.

My wife and I and our two children of 14 & 15yrs stayed at this residence during February. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The house is nicely laid out with more than plenty of room for 6 people. Everything was in working order with place settings for probably 20 people. Even in February, the yard was immaculate, the pool spotless and everything was in it´s place. We had a car (which is needed), and we visited Sintra one day, the beaches another and Lisbon the third day. It was nice to return to our country cottage, stopping off at a Supermarket or fresh produce stall on the way home. We used the WIFI services for downloading a couple of movies on our IPAD, and the speed was real good, though it is a open, public access WIFI, and the temperament may change with more visitors in the area. Even in February, there was congestion in several of the pueblos and when summer comes, we imagine the whole Sintra coastal area would be packed. The house has a beautiful view and very quiet location. Rosa is a very nice hostess. This house was worth the money.

The house and the property were very nice (some of the bathrooms could be improved). The garden with the view were great when the weather was clear. The owner is a very charming lady and provided us with maps and directions. My only beef is with the reservation system that requires you to pay your security deposit in advance then fails to reimburse it in a tiimely fashion. (I'm still waiting and it's been more than a month).

We had a very good week at this very private villa. Mrs Bastos was extremely helpful, friendly and made us most welcome.

Cheshire Clan Cheshire, UK.Date Submitted: October 22, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008 Having never visited Portugal before but wanting to stay away from busier tourist resorts, Casa do Moinho was absolutely perfect. Loved the villa, the location, surrounding areas, everything! The outside BBQ was a highlight... it's a first for us to eat in every night of a holiday but this we did. Home from home, highly recommended. Recommended for: Romantic Getaway, Age 55+, Sightseeing
5/5 Beautiful Casa do Moinho ! AClark london.Date Submitted: April 28, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008 The Casa do Moinho was so special. The whole property was more amazing than the photos on the net. We throughly enjoyed our stay in this area and this house. The house was well equipped for cooking and everyday living, with flowers in vases and rugs for the couches as a lovely extra! The place was clean and we had a maid visit twice during our stay. I would definitely recommend this property to groups of friends (we had 5 ppl) or families. There is a separate space so it would allow 2 small families to stay nicely, or two couples etc. The area was great, we were moments from Colares, which provided a small food shop and resturaunts, as well as Cascais which is a spectular coastly town. We did hire a car which we would advise. Overall, we had a brilliant time in Portugal ! The people were friendly and the house was lovely and the views were breath taking ! Rosa Bastos (owner) was a helpful and friendly woman who kindly met us late and took us through the house and how everything worked. I would recommend this place to all, and hope to return myself ! 5/5 Casa do Moinho --- Switzerland.Date Submitted: May 21, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008 Great experience at this very well situated house, with a beautiful garden, pool and excellent living room and kitchen.- In the end we were 9 adults and 2 small children and somehow we all got accomodated. The owner was charming, and very helpful on all occasions. We enjoyed the view, the independence, and the superb in-house catering service by Done and Dusted whom we highly recommend. 5/5 Beautiful place to stay SuperBock London.Date Submitted: September 04, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008 4 friends and I have just returned from Casa do Moinho having had a great week there. The house and garden is kept in great condition (the indoors/outdoors BBQ room is a particular touch of genius) and is set in a stunning environment on the hillside of the Portuguese coast. Hiring a car is essential as there is not a great deal within walking distance, although there is plenty to see in nearby Sintra, Cascais and Lisbon - all worth visiting. That said, the 403 bus runs through Ulgeira each hour where the villa is which means Sintra and Cascais are within easy reach via public transport which costs next to nothing. Trains between Sintra and Lisbon are also frequent. I'd recommend the villa for both families and groups of friends (there are 8 beds but it would comfortably fit a couple of inflatable beds etc). We had a great time lounging round the pool and BBQ (choice of 2!) but kept ourselves well entertained with nights out in Lisbon (Barrio Alto is a must) and Cascais. The palace at Sintra is definitely worth a visit, and the nearby Praia Grande is a popular place for surfing and swimming etc. Rosa is extremely helpful throughout and is reachable by phone if you need any help. She made the booking and payment process very easy and was flexible about dates etc. The cleaner also comes half way through the week, leaving the house spotless for your return later in the day. A great villa with a perfect balance of a tranquil rural setting (no complaints about music playing until 5am) and great access to beach/cities/towns. Recommended for: Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, People with Disabilities, Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway.
