Professionally guided group and private treks can be arranged by the lodge to all regions of the High Atlas. Dar Assarou offers great value comfortable accommodation.
Located in the Imlil Valley, nestled amongst apple orchards, in the High Atlas Mountains, Dar Assarou offers superb walking for all levels of ability; from gentle strolls along the valley to more challenging treks from the front door all the way to Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.
Our cosy Atlas Mountain retreat offers a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, with all the modern comforts and added charm of traditional Moroccan hospitality. The wild nature and breath-taking location of this place combined with the warm nature of its people help you understand that “marhaba“, (welcome), is more than an expression, it’s our way of life here.
This beautiful corner of Toubkal National Park is a popular trekking base, easily accessible by taxi, car, or 4×4. No matter which direction you venture, our doorstep is a trailhead into every degree of Toubkal’s most stunning terrain.
Dar Assarou sleeps up to 35 people in 15 standard, superior or suite rooms, each furnished in a rustic Berber country style. General facilities include TV, DVD, games, books, Berber tent and spacious sun terrace with sun loungers and dramatic views over the Imlil valley and of Mount Toubkal.
Dar Assarou’s strategic location inside Toubkal National Park promises many attractions, activities and day trip options; some just a stone’s throw away from Dar Assarou – and all within a scenic 1 hour 40-minute drive from Marrakech.

There is also the possibility to experience mule trekking, day walks, Toubkal treks and mountain biking; this can be arranged at the lodge on your arrival or by email after booking.
