The North West Italy / Italian Riviera/Liguria region

Liguria’s long, narrow stretch of coastline, from Ventimiglia in the west to Portovenere in the east, lies on the
Mediterranean and is sheltered by the Maritime Alps and Ligurian Apennines to the north. The region has very mild
winters and brilliant, hot summers with only about 60 days of rain a year.

Liguria is usually referred to as the Italian Riviera and is comprised of two regions: The Riviera di Ponente (Riviera of the
Setting Sun), which stretches from the French border to Genoa, and the Riviera di Levante, which spans from Genoa
east to Portovenere.

The Ponente is home to the fancy seaside resort of Sanremo and evokes its commercialized French counterparts to the
west, while the Levante is home to smaller villages and a rockier coastline with glittering jewels of its own, like Portofino
and the famous walkers’ destination of Cinque Terre.

Recco area

Recco is called the gastronomic capital of Liguria.

Famous is the "Focaccia al Formaggio" , "Troffie al Pesto", "Pansotti con la salsa di noci".

For those who like to walk the beach is a 20-minute walk.

By car it takes 10 minutes.

There is also a small bus that has stopped outside the gate of the villa.

In the vicinity of Recco there are Rapallo (4km), Santa Margherita (4km), Camogli (km 1), Genova Nervi (km. 4), Genoa
Centre (km 15).

The connections with buses and trains are frequent and comfortable.

There is also a taxi service.

My family and I stayed at the villa for two weeks in August. We took both the upper and lower villa together. The view is extraordinary, and very beautiful. The villas are basic and simple, but have all you need. The pool was quite daunting when we first arrived, but we grew to love it. Where else could you swim with such a great view of the mountains. Words of caution through: the walk to the town is great going down, but very steep coming up. So 15 mins down, 30 mins up, and good exercise. Also get a small car, because the roads are tiny. Also no welcome pack, so you have to get everything. We would definitely stay here again. The villa is great, the pool good, the walk good exercise, and the town is a great small town, with a simple set of beaches. Highly recommended.

“Great effort was made to meet our requirements!” Villa was great in terms of room, lots of living space and great views. A long walk down to the Town and at least 30mins to get back up the hill. Bus available about 5 times per day but only has 7 seats. A nice walk but preferable to have a car for shopping etc. Pool was fine, gardens ok but terrace outside villa was best to soak up sun and take in the views. Owners in regular contact and made extra efforts to help us out with lots of info and pick up from station as well as delivering a lovely gift of focaccia on our 1st morning. Basic but met our every need for the price we paid!

Herrlicher Blick Jun 2016

We stayed for one week in Villa Pia and we really enjoyed our time there!! From the house one has a wonderful view to the sea and as we are 13 youths at the age of 19 years we really liked the fact that we could listen to our music as loud as we wanted until late in the night because the house is situated at the hill of Recco surrounded by wonderful green nature and only few neigbours. The owner of the house was very kind and all the time concerned about our well-being! And in Recco there are many nice restaurants which were really cheap and besides we cooked a lot in the kitchen of the house, which also worked well! We can recommend the house to everybody!!

My name is Antonio and I am a retired bank manager .. my wife Maria Pia and I built this villa together to live with our three children. But for work reasons we moved to Rome and we could no longer use this house. So we decided to make it live and let tourists enjoy it. We are truly pleased to know that other families or groups of friends can taste the beauty of living in this home. You can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and the small town of Recco. The air is full of oxygen and the scent of the forest below. Peace is enhanced by the chirping of birds. During the hot summer days it is nice to be pampered by the song of cicadas.
