Deluxe Apt-1 Bedroom-fully Serviced

Residence Hilda was my favorite hotel on our most recent trip to Italy. We arrived in Florence by train walked to the ResHilda, and had no problem,... except the addresses in Florence are not all that easy to follow. We were greeted by a very pleasant host who gave us 2 excellent suggestions for lunch and dinner. We loved both of them.... especially the Mozzarella bar. Our room, and I believe all the rooms, are actually suites with a separate bedroom, living and dining room and galley kitchen. It is superbly planned and the furnishing are very modern, fresh and give the place a wonderful feel. The layout is terrrific, allowing my partner to go to bed early while I stayed up. The bath is in located such that we both could use it without disturbing the other. I just can't say enough nice things about Residence Hilda......close to the Duomo, easy walk to the train station and a great place to stay.Tripadvisor, July 5th, 2009

RH is absolutely a superb place to stay if visiting Florence w/ children, especially small ones. It is small and cozy but has EVERYTHING, from brilliantly outfitted kitchenetts to umbrellas by the door. The staff was shockingly professional and helpful, they carried luggage (both to store it and bring to/from the room) wrote out detailed maps for walking and driving (warning - not easy) The valet arrangement w/ the local garage ultra convenient and reliable, the morning breakfast, included, was a joy at the cafe steps from the front - I give it a 10 out of 10. - ChrisTripadvisor, July 15th, 2009

Enjoyed our stay and perfect location. With nearly three weeks of traveling in Europe, this was by far the best place we stayed. The staff are friendly, the rooms are impeccable and the stay was restorative. We stayed at the Residence Hilda at the end of a month long trip around Italy, and found it to be a wonderful place to stay. The staff at reception were extremely helpful, and it was wonderful to have a large apartment with our children. The Residence Hilda is located about two blocks from the Duomo. It is a newly renovated building. On the same street is a supermarket, several reasonably priced restaurants, and right across the street is a launderette (after a week on the road, having a washing machine nearby was a real plus). The apartment kitchen is well equiped and we enjoyed breakfast each morning and had a couple of meals in the apartment, which really helped the budget. Next door to the Residence is a cafe which sells excellent pastries for breakfast, or go to the supermarket the night before. We were travelling with our two children, ages 12 and 14. The Residence put out two pullout beds for them. The staff all spoke english and were extremely polite and helpful. oh, i forgot to mention...the apartment has air-conditioning!Tripadvisor, July 15th, 2009

We thoroughly our brief ƒ night) visit at the Residence Hilda... after we finally got there. :) Driving in Florence is a challenge - something to avoid if you are able - and we had some difficulty in the maze of parks and one way streets finding our way to the hotel. We saw it, tried to go around the block to park in front and dro p off our bags and managed to get ourselves lost again - for more than an hour! Staff at the hotel were so helpful - and patient - with us. They emailed directions to my blackberry, and when we still had some difficulty they advised for us to stay right where we were. The manager then hopped on her motorcycle and drove to our location to guide us in! Certainly beyond the call of duty, and very much appreciated. They also made great recommendations for dinner, and tours, etc. I would highly recommend this location to anyone spending some time in Florence. This was a wonderful apartment - so well situated, clean, great staff I can't rave enough about this place. Just down the road from the Duomo, right on a sightseeing tour bus stop, supermarket down the road (on left - closes at 8pm) and laudromat just across the road. VERY small balcony, but we still managed to put a chair on it and sip some wine. Wireless internet meant we could play Dean Martin tunes in the background while we sipped a fab red wine and look out at the Duomo. This was a fantastic apartment and I can't recommend it highly enough. We opted to have our car "valet" parked rather than leave it in the car park behind. I felt safer with this option and it wasn't that expensive in the scheme of things.You can buy tickets to Galleria dell' Accademia (David statue) from reception - no need to book in advance from home, but if you book them from reception you skip the longer queues at the museum.I recommend a restaurant just down the road from apartment: Acquacotta ࿓ Via dei Pilastri). Great food and excellent service. Good local restaurant.We also took the "walkabout tour of Tuscany - the best of Tuscany Tour" - this was fantastic and if you only have limited days, I would recommend this trip (Sienna, San Gimignano, Pisa).
