Overview
The old country house is built of thick stone walls (cool in summer, warm in winter) and is completely refurbished to a high standard. It is at the end of the village near woods and close to a stream. It is in a place where time seems to have passed by, the locals still make there own bread (there is a fully functional wood burning bread/pizza oven at the rear) pasta, sauces, home made wine etc
Many that stay use it as a base to tour Italy. As far North as the Alps, South Florence, West The Italian Riviera, East Venice... etc ,are all within 2/3 hrs. drive or train journey.

THE VILLAGE
Castelletto is a small village near Vernasca and Lugagnano (10 mins drive) for small shops etc. It is on the Via Francigena, one of the old pilgrim routes, that where used by people from all over Europe, to get to Rome. The whole area is full of places of interests. Medieval castles, Castellarquato and Vigoleno, where opera concerts are held, just to name a few of many. There are many market towns, 1 for every day of the week. There is an abundance of things to do and see. Clients have remarked how beautiful and peaceful, and how friendly the locals were. So come and see for yourself.
PS.WE ALSO ARRANGE CATERING FOR WEDDINGS AND ORGANIZE COOKING CLASSES
THE AREA.
Emilia is a dynamic area, but is also famous for its great FOOD ,the products that have come from this area are just to many to mention, besides it all together another matter trying it here. CULTURE ,many concerts and operas are held in the medieval castles. Emelia is also great for GOLF, in fact there are 5 in this area, and another 15 in the region. Its also famous for its cars and bikes, the FERRARI museum is in Modena, LAMBORGHINI, and the DUCATI BIKES in Bologna. Also vintage car exhibitions, and races are programed.

This property was everything we hoped for and more. It was well tucked away in a small town south west of Fidenza. The accommodation was really great. It had the charm of an old style farm house and was very clean and well-appointed with all mod cons and all of the appliances worked very well. The rooms were very spacious including the bathroom. We did not at any stage run out of hot water and the washing machine and dish washer worked very well. The WiFi had a very strong signal particular inside. The telephone signal was variable but could generally get a signal. We used the Bar B Q and the outdoor wood fired oven and both worked well. We had the advantage of the solitude and the ability to explore the hills, parks, farms and little villages in our local area as well as comfortable day trips to Parma, Modena and Bologna. We also did 4 overnight trips (2 to Verona and Cinque Terra by car plus Milan by train), but were always excited to get back to our farm house. The lunch at “Antica Corta Pallavicina” was “a bucket list” occasion and less than an hour away. The local towns of lugangano Val d’Arda and Castell.Arquato provided very well for our daily needs. We all agreed this was a fantastic experience. You do need a car to be able to really enjoy this area. This was a great experience in a great property. I have no hesitation recommending it and can be contacted at peter@hmval.com.au.

NICOLA says: "This property is absoultly stunning, in a beautiful area of Italy, a perfect base for seeing the sites of Emilia Romania. The house is beautifully finished with a rustic charm, it has its own fruit and vegatable garden, which the owners are happy for you to use, the gardens a pretty and well kept. The house is situated in a small village with lots of fantastic restaurants and bars close by (within a short drive). Theres a local super market close by which have all the necessities. The owners are really friendly and helpful and speak amazing english. The even left us some home made wine to try, and were helpful in telling us the best places to visit. The house is split into 2 stunning apartments, we stayed in the ground floor apartment which is perfect for our young family. We had a truly perfect holiday, seeing all the sights and spending time in a simply tranquill, beautiful house in italy."
