Villa Eirene
Beach villa with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and private pool in Skala, Kefalonia
From £770 per week
Superb, fully-equipped villa designed with home comforts in mind, in great location, just five hundred metres from the protected 'Turtle Beach'.
Overview
Kefalonia has for many years been hidden from the tourist map until the film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin suddenly brought the spectacular beauty of the island to everyone’s attention.
Although the island has its own airport and visitor numbers are increasing Kefalonia still has that authentic Greek charm that other islands have long lost.
Villa Eirene is based in the south east corner of the island but being a small island all parts are easily accessible so head into Argostoli and go shopping in 30 minutes or an underground boat ride on the lake at Melissani. Head to the north and you’ll find celebrities and the very wealthy anchoring in the bay at Fisicardo.
Sample the delights of the islands own wineries especially the Gentilini winery close to the airport. Enjoy Gyros (a local type of kebab) on the waterfront in Argostoli or simply laze away on a beach and top up the tan. Kefalonia caters for all.
Our villa is designed to give you the comforts of home, so you will have a TV and Wi-Fi, a dining table for 6 indoors and a patio table for an additional 6 outside by the pool. A fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and washing machine so you don’t need to cram the suitcase with clothes for every single day.
We have 6 sun loungers around the pool so everyone can soak up the beautiful Kefalonia sunshine. We also have two large 3 seater settees which mean you can relax indoors too and the air conditioning will keep everyone cool
Fancy a barbeque, no problem. With lots of small supermarkets in Katelios or Skala or the larger supermarkets near Argostoli fresh food for that BBQ is easily available.
Sleep in comfort; the master bedroom has a double bed, en-suite bath/shower and toilet facilities. Sit on the large balcony and enjoy a morning coffee while you watch the sun rise from behind the nearby hills or watch it set over the sea and the nearby island of Zante.
The second double bedroom is downstairs and has direct access to the pool area, so any keen swimmers can use this without disturbing the sleepy heads of the family.
Upstairs we also have a further two bedrooms each with two single beds. A cot is available on request. Finally to avoid the wash room arguments there are two walk in shower rooms and toilets one upstairs and one downstairs in addition to the en-suite .
We would highly recommend the use of a car both for ease of access to the villa and to make the most of your stay on the island. The Villa has ample parking for two cars.

What a brilliant holiday at Villa Eirene. It is located in a lovely quiet area which is easy to get to in the car. A short drive to Skala for a bit of nightlife or just relaxing by the pool it is just perfect. There is a lovely restaurant in the village but it is very popular so be sure to book!
The villa is very clean and well stocked with everything you need to cook some great meals. The rooms are big and airy, there are plenty of bathrooms. The pool and sunbeds get the sun all day and have a lovely view of the sea and mountains. There is a lovely breeze from the mountains on an evening too.
Tony is an excellent host and was so easy to communicate with. We have booked again for next year and cannot wait!

This villa is fantastic! Lots of room, very clean, comfortable and very well equipped if you want to cook in but also 5 minutes walk from the wonderful Avri taverna.
Superb views from every window and door. AC was a godsend! The pool is perfect, nice depth across the whole thing at 1.50m with a ledge around too.
Communications with the owner and housekeeper were great, very quick responses and really helpful. Perfect position for the 10 minute drive into Skala. Only 12 Euros back in the taxi if you want a few cocktails! Lovely beach bar and restaurant Anemos at Kaminia beach, just below the villa. A walk down not too bad but quite a hike back up! Restaurant on the pricier side but the food, view and service was incredible. Kaminia beach itself was quite shallow so you have to walk out a way to really swim. My son saw research students helping turtles to hatch one early morning!
Skala beach lovely for swimming and snorkelling. AB supermarket in Skala good for most things but go early for bread and meat.
Beautiful drive through the mountains to Sami and Antisamos beach - again, go early to get a spot by one of the trees for shade if you don’t want to be in the crowded bar/sun bed area. Water sports great fun but again quite pricey.
Lourdata beach lovely with a hidden gem of a bar in the village called Cafe Platanos run by a Welshman who sells 300 different types of bottled beers. The view from the loo is incredible!! Recommend Perfanis car hire.
Kefalonia is a wonderful island and this villa was perfect for 9 of us. Thank you Tony and Will, the lovely ladies who came to clean and nice pool man!

David McCloud from London UK Sep 2013 Really lovely Villa, well furnished and good sized accomodation, and very close to a beautiful beach. Car hire recommended to enjoy fully the local amenities in Skala, which provide you with a good selec tion of restaurants, bars and shopping facilties, but on top of that, its well worth taking a few trips around the Island as the views are absolutely breath-taking. The Villas pool kept the kids happy during the days we stayed in, and in the evening the BBQ was great to relax with our friends and enjoy the sun going down. Highly recommend this if you want to get away for some peace and relaxtion, but still want the option to be close enough for other forms of entertainment.
Adrian Froggatt from Sevenoaks Kent Oct 2013 We only went for a short break but will definitely be booking again. The villa was superb and had all the comforts of home with plenty of space for everyone. The people on Kefalonia are very friendly and the location of the villa is perfect just being a few minutes drive to Skala and the local shops and restaurants. The nearby beach is to die for, clear warm water just right for the kids.

Kefalonia is a place that once visited is never forgotten which is what happened to us about 20 years ago! After that I set about finding and building our dream home on the island We now welcome a few guests each year to enjoy our home and the island and as visitor numbers are limited, we like to think the villa now is as nice as it was when we first built it.
