Villa Arialkis

Beach villa with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and private pool in Kondomari, Crete

From €1,750 per week

For those who will settle for nothing less than absolute beauty, a villa that offers panoramic luxury with heated infinity pool, sun deck, gym, bbq patio and garden, located in the hub of everything.

Overview

Towering over lush olive groves, Villa ARIALKίS not only offers all the comforts for the most discerning visitor, but also an unparalleled environment with majestic views stretching from the Cretan sea to the White Mountains. We have, therefore, coined our villa "ARIALKίS" from Greek roots, which mean the power of the earth and sea. A befitting name, as the picturesque landscape and the azure of the sea dynamically burst forth to clash in contrast with the white-washed villages and the snow-capped mountains in the distance.

The villa boasts a privileged location amongst other beautiful stone-built villas in a neighborhood reminiscent of a "paradise village" (as the residents refer to their surroundings).

Guests pull into their private driveway with immediate ground-floor access to a self contained 25 square meter guesthouse offered as a fourth bedroom. It has a private entrance and boasts toilet/shower and mini kitchen that comfortably accommodates two extra guests if the booking exceeds the number of 6 visitors in the main villa extending above.

The main spaces are accessible via a stone walkway/ramp past the infinity pool that meshes with the azure of the sea and the distant mountains and cascades into a children's pool. Panoramic views are especially enjoyed from the spacious and fully furnished pergola barbeque.

The harmony of the lawn, the garden and trees with their hammocks adjacent to the large sun deck of the pool are sure to put an anticipating smile on any guest's face. The infinity pool extends just two and a half meters from the living room of the villa, behind which there is even a gravel pit with a pool-up bar for the athletic types for an ideal body-weight work out, while there is also a fully equipped free-weight gym in the garage space.

On entering the ground floor, one is welcomed by an open space where stone and wood mesh in the finest of taste, accommodating a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting room with fireplace and a library/study. Handmade, wood crafted furniture add to the cozy ambience of tradition and comfort. The study/library has a wood-crafted desk from which one can work or write poetry inspired by the panoramic view through the window. Furnished with comfortable sofa bed and clothes cabinet, it also acts as a third bedroom by drawing the thick curtain to partition it from the sitting room.

Once seated on the comfortable, large sofa of the sitting room, one takes in the most majestic view stretching from the pool to the sea and the mountains. The proximity of the infinity pool from the lounge means that parents can be enjoying a beverage indoors with visual contact of the children plunging about.

On the same floor, there is a WC with shower and a spacious built-in closet along the hallway.

A wood-built staircase leads to the upper floor with the two bedrooms and a bathroom with a laundry machine.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and TV, and the other bedroom is furnished with a single sofa bed and a bunk bed. Both rooms offer plenty of built-in wardrobe closet space.

Accessible from both bedrooms, lies a terrace with coffee table and chairs for yet another panoramic view to the sea and the most spectacular sunsets.

We have placed such emphasis on the variety of scenery, that beautiful views can be enjoyed literally from every window of the house that encompasses guests in cozy, rustic-style luxury. Next to the infinity pool lies a spacious barbeque patio lounge under a pergola. Fully furnished for coffee and meals, it promises wonderful moments and sunsets that will take your breath away. Maleme beach is only a 5-minute drive or 20 minute walk away, whilst trails through patches of forest, orange and olive groves abound and there are clusters of traditional homes and narrow village paths begging to be explored. The cosmopolitan town/village of Platanias is only a 7-minute drive from the property.

However, be warned: The amenities of ARIALKiS, with its spectacular pool, sun deck, fully equipped free-weight gym, barbeque patio and tree-laden garden with its picnic lawn, hammocks and vegetable garden for your fresh salads, make it difficult to tear oneself from the villa; for it is, indeed, a microcosm of comfort, action and beauty in itself!

We had a lovely stay at this beautifully appointed villa - a very special house indeed. The owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and give us tips on what to do. You need a car but the location is away from it all and incredibly relaxing.

The villa overlooks the sea on one side, the mountains on another, and olive groves in between. It is comfortable, and feels like a real home. It is close to shops and restaurants, and the walks through the villages and olive groves are special and memorable. The gym and the pool are added treats. The truly exceptional part of this home is the host couple: Panagiotis and Apollonia. They are knowledgeable, generous, responsive, and authentically Cretan. They give great recommendations for places to visit, out-of-the-way places to eat, and sights to see. They made us feel valued guests and welcome friends. Highly recommended all round.

This house is perfectly located and has a great view and nice surroundings near olive gardens and orange trees. It’s also highly functional and has all appliances and features you might need. 15-18 min walk to the beach, ~20 min walk to the supermarket. It is most convenient to travel to this part of the island by car, and this house has its own parking spot. The pool has its own heating system so you can swim even when it’s not that hot (like in October). The hosts are fantastic inspiring couple that helped us a lot during our monthly stay. This house is one of the kind and a true unique stay.

We loved our stay and will return. We loved the villa and its facilities. A great pool, BBQ and outdoor dining area, all with a fantastic view of the sea and lots of sun. We stayed for 10 days and wished we could have stayed for longer. The main villa (there is an annex also which we didn't rent) was the perfect size for my wife and I and our friend who joined us, but can easily accommodate additional persons. Our host is the owner (not a management company) and was friendly and informative, wanting to make our experience relaxed and enjoyable, and respected our privacy. It is about a 25min walk down to the beach and 25-35min walk to local restaurants - but taxies also readily available if you want to go into Platanios or Chania. We loved our stay and look forward to returning in the future

Our stay at the villa has been one of the best experiences we ever had on the island. First, the unique location of the villa allows us to be very close to any kind of activities and amenities, while still being far enough to avoid the big masses of tourists. It is a true island of calm and beauty, diplaying the most stunning view on the sea and the mountains. The house itself, is beautiful and very functional. It has not been built as a tourist villa but as a home and this makes a huge différence : it has a warm atmosphere which instantly makes us feel like home! (huge big up for the gym too !!) But even thought the house and the location are outsanding on every point, the main asset of this rental is the man behind it! Panagiotis has been an incredible host, funny, caring and generous in every step of our stay, from the welcoming in the house full of the nicest attentions, to the check out and the long good byes and messages for a probable next year holiday under the cretan sun!

Unforgettable vacation in this location . The villa is in great and peaceful location . The view from the pool and the rooms are like a postcard. The villa has all needed amenities and even more. On top of it Panagiotis (the host) answered to every request that we had include some useful advise of what are the best attractions in the area.

Look no further! The view is amazing, the infinity pool looking down over the Mediterranean Sea was something to behold! Panagiotis, the owner of the villa, is there to meet and greet you, he even had a couple of beers waiting for us! I cannot recommend this villa highly enough.

Wow what an amazing stay in a truly fabulous villa. The infinity pool, pool deck & gardens and the view from them is just stunning; even more so than the pictures suggest. We spent the most wonderful relaxed days around the pool (when not visiting the wonders of western Crete). And the sunsets, what to say other than no matter what we were doing we always made sure we were back for sundowners. Very comfortable & well appointment interior to the villa and again stunning views from the master bedroom. What a treat also to have our own on-site gym. Great location just up in the hills above the sea, to enjoy the views. But super close to get to the sea could walk to the nearest beach (although we didn’t). And just 10 mins drive from Platanias / Agia Marina if looking for a more lively beach vibe, or greater restaurant choices. Also only 30 mins from Chania itself, which we visited a couple of evening. Panagiotis is a truly wonderful host, he will give you as many tips /suggestions as you want / need - and they were all great by the way! - but also leaves his guests in peace to enjoy the stunning location. Panagiotis, thank you for everything & we really hope to be able to stay again some time soon!

Born and raised in Chania, after an Odyssey abroad, I returned to my birthplace, which I have always considered to be one of the most beautiful "playgrounds" for anyone who possesses the virility and the imagination to enjoy it to its full potential. With interests varying from extreme sports to art, music and writing, I have always been hard pressed for choices of what activity to tackle first on just about every morning I wake in the birthplace of European civilization. All of the above inspired me to build the ideal venue for all these activities encapsulated in a dreamy environment, reminiscent of the timelessness of Crete. My only grievance is that there are not enough hours in a day to do the things I love in this microcosm of the best that life has to offer to anyone who feels alive to his fingertips. What's more, I greatly enjoy sharing all this enthusiasm with my guests by suggesting the right places to make their most out of their visit.
