Lovely fully renovated property dating from 1694 in the grounds of the main house. Shared heated pool in the large garden. Located between Saumur and Angers surrounded by many high quality vineyards.

Overview

Le Petit Pavillon is a small and charming renovated gite, probably the former grain-store of the manor-house. Well appointed living accomodation with living/dining room and corner kitchen, bathroom and mezzanine double-room. Guests have shared use of the heated pool (May/September) and hot-tub. They also have shared access to home cinema in a separate building and to a large common garden.
The property is located midway between Saumur and Angers in a national park, crossed by the legendary Loire, the Europes's last entamed river, listed as World Heritage by Unesco. Tuffeau stones and slate have lent their nuances to the somptuous buildings that stands on its bank. Renaissance chateaux, medieval fortresses, very highly regarded vineyards (Saumur-Champigny, Chinon, Vouvray, Anjou-Brissac, Coteaux du Layon, nice restaurants and typical food markets are within easy access. Local growers are always very pleased to welcome visitors for a tasting.

The cave galleries of tuffeau stone dug out of the rocks, formerly used to build chateaux are nowadays remarkable wine cellars, mushrooms cellars or troglodyte villages. The world famous zoo of Doue-la-Fontaine nested in a troglodyte cave is a few minutes drive away. Le Manoir des Rosiers is a great base to explore this part of the Loire Valley.

Le Petit Pavillon (property 80333) and the gite (property 26818) can be rented together or individually depending on party size.

Le Petit Pavillon was a beautiful holiday retreat and perfect for a relaxing week away. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly, recommending places to visit and places to eat as well as answering any questions we had. The property itself was beautifully decorated and clean with everything we wanted for the week we were there, the home cinema and hot tub were brilliant extras! The only slight downfall was that there weren't any shops or restaurants within a short walk away but that also meant it had the upside of being very peaceful and had everything you needed to cook food at the property. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The administrative processes of booking, paying and communicating with yourselves and our hosts were straightforward and trouble free.
Our journey via London City Airport and Angers to the Manoir was also pleasant and without incident.
We knew something of the accommodation prior to our visit, as our daughter and family have stayed here for a number of years and can't stop talking about it.
The village itself is peaceful and a delight. Then we arrived at the Manoir, tucked into an even quieter corner and were enchanted by the beautiful setting and extensive grounds.
The Pavilion was a surprise in its construction, with its open ground floor, mezzanine sleeping area and its traditional farm house atmosphere.
We spent a relaxing and enjoyable time there in France and wish to thank our congenial hosts, Maia and Frederic, for their warm welcome and hospitality.

This is a delightful place to stay and the owners are very charming. However, there is an adjoining property the pool is shared, not private.
