Wake up in our peaceful green corner of Provence, breakfast 'en plein air' beside your own swimming pool and step back in time and enjoy the slow pace of life in our southern French town with a direct bus service to Avignon.
You have exclusive use of a large graduated pool which is bordered by conifers for privacy and equipped with a family sized solar shower. The pool is open from April to October making La Soleillade an ideal location for your Spring or Autumn break.
There's a poolside Summer Kitchen equipped with facilities for making your own paella, a plancha grill, a fridge freezer for cool poolside drinks and an inbuilt charcoal barbecue. Meals can be enjoyed under the grape covered pergola and the pool is surrounded by loungers for sun worshippers.
The ground floor apartment benefits from a southerly aspect so you have the sun all day long. It's within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants, you have Avignon 20 mins away and Nimes around 30 mins.
Your accommodation comprises a comfortable living room with wifi connection, air conditioning and doors to the south facing patio area. There's a SMART TV with connection to British broadcasts, a DVD player with a selection of movies in English and French and a dining table seating four for cooler evenings. There is one double bedroom, a twin bedroom, plus one of the sofas in the lounge converts to a double sofa bed and we have a box room with travel cot for baby. You have a fully equipped kitchen and shower room with toilet, Mexican porcelain sink and a large walk in shower.
Nestling amongst the vineyards of the southern Cotes du Rhone, the independent ground floor apartment is particularly suitable for wine buffs as you are surrounded by the major wineries of Laudun, Lirac, Tavel and Chateauneuf du Pape.
Children and pets are very welcome. There are plenty of places to keep the children amused include a visit to the Haribo bonbon museum at Uzes or the crocodile farm at Pierrelatte. You can hire canoes and bicycles to discover the beautiful valley of the river Ceze, or go horseback riding amongst the sunflowers and lavender fields.
If you have limited mobility, the apartment has easy access and a large spacious walk in shower.
Avignon is 20 mins away with its arts festival in July. You have three of the most beautiful villages in France within a 20 km radius and you can discover the World Heritage Sites of Orange and the Pont du Gard or visit Arles and follow in the footsteps of Van Gogh or just wander the cobbled streets and enjoy the weekly Provencal market in the Duchy of Uzes.
La Soleillade offers you a tranquil base to return to after a day exploring this historic region and no matter what time of year you choose to visit, you will be made very welcome

Paradise in Provence Fabulous stay at this beautiful peaceful house in Provence. Nothing was too much trouble for our kind host Linda who's love for the property and region shines through in attentive touches. From the generously stocked fridge and pantry , superbly eqipped kitchen complete with beautiful Provencal crockery; to the simply stunning pool and outdoor vine covered patio and the outdoor kitchen. This really was a little piece of heaven where I enjoyed preparing salads, whilst keeping an eye on the bbq gin and tonic in hand, and then serving crepes for desert on the outdoor stove! The house is situated perfectly for exploring the region, if you can tear yourselves away from the pool. We cycled to town to explore and stock upon a few essentials., and enjoyed the bustling market day in stunning Uzes and took in the impressive Roman Aqueduct at Pont Du Gard. But if you have more time than us then Avignon and St Remy de Provence are all within easy driving distance. The teenagers were delighted to find UK TV and WIFI , and the house comfortably accommodated 5 of us , with the most generous shower I've ever enjoyed ! A truly wonderful stay and a holiday we will.never forget. 08/04/2019 at 8:49 AM
Hope to be back! Beautiful villa which was perfectly set up for a family with young children like us. The children loved the spotless pool, whilst the outside kitchen area was a fantastic feature. The town centre is in easy walking distance with the sunday market being a must to visit. Going on holiday with a 1, 3 and 6 year old can be stressful but as soon as we reached the villa we felt totally relaxed which was helped by the lovely bottle of Rose Linda had left for us! Linda herself is very accomodating and a great help when it came to recommending places to visit etc. We loved our stay and just hope there is availability to book again next year!
Getaway to a Very Romantic Provence House My wife and I are still mellow, having just spent 8 heavenly days in La Soleillade. We wish we had stayed longer. All of our fantasies were met and then some. Linda Cairns is THE MOST welcoming host. Her website accurately describes the house and is in perfect, spotless condition. The glass-enclosed shower is huge, easily holding my wife and I. The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with staples, and Linda had stocked the refrigerator for us with many foods and beverages that kept us supplied for several days. The refreshing, VERY PRIVATE pool has glisteningly clear water and Linda Cairns keeps the pool and patio spotless. The outdoor kitchen is wonderful: I could sip my wine, and periodically swim whilst the charcoal heated, and then cook the steaks while my wife sipped wine and nibbled local cheese and olives on the VERY PRIVATE awning-covered patio. Heaven! If you want to dine out, Linda recommends great restaurants and makes your reservations. We dressed up and were wowed by Laudun's fancy 4 Star restaurant with its high-end French gourmet cuisine. You can easily walk into the village of Laudun where there is a grocery store, restaurants, and bistros. Laudun is amidst the "Cotes du Rhone Villages" wine area so you can easily do wine tastings at the many local wine chateaus. We enjoyed the world famous Tavel Rosé wines, which you can buy cheaply at the local grocery. The Laudun-area red wines are splendid and we wish we could have brought a case home with us. Sleeping is salubrious: you hear only the birds. We aren't French-fluent, so it was so comforting to have a native English speaker (Linda is originally from Scotland) available to help navigate travel plans, AND the house has satellite-provided English-speaking British television stations! The location is great and it is easy to have lattes and a relaxing breakfast, then do day trips to Avignon, Arles and Les Baux, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Stes-Maries-de-la-Mer and Le Grau-du-Roi with its miles-long Plage L' Espiguette (the eastern part of which is officially clothes-optional), and the not-to-be-missed Saturday Market at Uzes (morning) and swim at Pont du Gard (afternoon), but twice we elected to enjoy a day of reading and vegging out by the pool. We played Boules on La Soleillade’s authentic Boules Court before cocktails. You can minimize the clothes you bring, because you can use Linda's clothes washer. It is a heavenly place that meets your fantasies. We long to getaway there again.

I'm Scottish by birth and now French by nationality. My husband and I have spent many years visiting and living in France and decided on retirement to move to 'the Sud' for a more leisurely style of life. We live on the first floor and have our own entrance. We are on hand, if required, otherwise you will not be disturbed. I love meeting people, introducing them to this historic region and sharing all my tips to make their holiday truly memorable. We bought La Soleillade because of its quiet location, southerly aspect and the warm welcome of our French neighbours who have become life long friends. We have stayed in all the departments of the Languedoc but chose the department of Gard because its the greenest and the most easterly with direct connections to north south autoroutes. La Soleillade is situated in the most southerly corner of the region known as the Gard Provencal. The property is well situated for transport connections and you can visit all the important towns of the region very easily and have a beautiful peaceful base to return to after a days sightseeing. I love to take the train to Aix en Provence or Marseille for a days shopping and Avignon is only a 20 mins drive or you can take the local bus and spend an hour touring all the surrounding beautiful villages en route. By staying here you can experience life in a small undiscovered southern French town, its a bit like stepping back to life in the 1950s with real church bells chiming the hour and peaceful Sundays when you can wander into the village for fresh baguettes and visit the local morning market.
