Château De Lamostonie
Chateau with 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and private pool in Frayssinet, the South of France
From £2,400 per week
Lamostonie is one of the loveliest Châteaux in the region and is a perfect place for a memorable holiday with family and friends.
Overview
The Château is approached up a long private drive and is surrounded by 35 acres of its own land. Château de Lamostonie has a Rapunzel tower and a Juliet balcony and is let on an exclusive basis, providing complete privacy. The mature gardens have sweet-scented roses, lavender and sweeping lawns. The Château is also warm in winter with roaring log fires in the dining hall and drawing room.
Heated Swimming Pool, Flood-lit Tennis Court
The Château has a large heated swimming pool (15m x 6m) with garden furniture, a barbeque and a pleasant terrace. There is a flood-lit hard tennis court with racquets and balls provided.
Heated Swimming Pool
There are 6 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Two of the double bedrooms are arranged as suites with an adjoining dressing room or a room where children may sleep as appropriate. There are 4 single bedrooms and additional shower rooms (one with a sit-in shower). The master double bedroom has a romantic balcony. See the detailed floor plan with photographs on the owner's website. A service lift provides access to the upper floors for those who prefer not to use the stairs or perhaps for a wheelchair.
Inside the Château there is a magnificent dining room with a huge fireplace for log fires and a large table where parties may dine by candle-light. There is a wood panelled music room with a grand piano and an elegant drawing room. For quiet moments, there is a tiny chapel in the tower, with stained glass windows. The older part of the house has an oak-beamed hall that could be used for larger celebrations, especially in the winter months. The chateau houses a further grand piano in the old hall and upstairs there is a snug TV room with Video and DVD players. Satellite CNN and BBC World programmes are also available.
There are large kitchens, fully equipped and with two dishwashers, two ovens and microwave etc. Although modern, they are in a traditional style, and retain some of the attractive features formerly present such as pretty dressers and a copper hood over the hob. In the kitchen there is an additional table with seating for 6. For those who prefer not to cook, we can arrange for an excellent local chef to prepare your meals.
There are two large terraces, suitable for eating outside, well equipped with garden furniture and easily accessible from the house.
Maid service
Maid Service is included three mornings a week to keep the house clean. If you wish to have additional maid service this may be arranged on request to the staff at an hourly rate. If required, we can provide details of local baby-sitters to enable you to make your own arrangements.
Linen and Towels are provided, but please bring your own swimming towels.
The Château is built over a vast stone vaulted cellar in which there is a laundry room, with automatic washing machines.
Telephone calls are metered at cost and a broadband WiFi is available free of charge.
A deposit will be requested prior to your holiday. This is fully refundable less any expenses for Telephone, Central heating, or breakages at the end of your holiday.
Cottage le Pigeonnier
Within the grounds, but set a little way from the Château, is the charming Pigeonnier with its own amenities. This is wonderful for a couple or a young family, sleeping up to 4. The Pigeonnier is let with the Château to provide additional accommodation if required.
Weddings and Parties
There are endless possibilities for creating a memorable and romantic celebration at Château de Lamostonie. As far as we can, we shall try to accommodate the individual arrangements you wish to make. The terraces and lawns of the Château are ideal for drinks receptions. In Spring and Summer, you may wish to have a wedding breakfast or birthday meal outside. Tables and marquees may be set up in various places. One particularly idyllic spot for a party is under the shady branches of a large horse-chestnut tree to the south-west of the Château. The dining room comfortably seats fourteen people. For larger parties, the hall in the older part of the house may also be used for dining.
We can assist you with details of appropriate caterers, florists and musicians.
Christmas and New Year
With its roaring log fires and wonderful views, Château de Lamostonie is a fantastic place to spend Christmas and the New Year.

A truly magnificent stay Wow! What a place! The most amazing weeks stay in the most perfect of venues. We stayed as a group of 10 plus 2 children and the Chateau was perfect for our needs. Excellent location, driving distance of many day trips and amenities. Tres bien!
Le Chateau Had a wonderful time. Chateau full of nooks and crannies and loads of character. Played tennis for the first time in 15 years on a beautiful court and swam in the pool. Peaceful location but close to many interesting towns and villages. All in all a great vacation.
Magical! We traveled to Lamostonie for a week at the start of the summer as a group of 10 plus 6 young children. The group was blown away by the Chateau - the whole experience from booking inquiries to going home was top class. We loved the pool, the tennis court, the table tennis and the beautiful grounds. The Chateau is so pretty it felt like we were in a fairy-tale (which the kids loved!) The rooms were fabulous and everything spotless. We have the Chef cook us some fabulous meals and enjoyed a couple of lovely BBQs as well. I had high expectations going in, but they were surpassed in every way. Really superb and we will definitely be back. A huge thank you to Joanna, Stuart, Frederique and all the team. Perfection!

There have been many refurbishments since we bought Chateau de Lamostonie in 2007. For example, each double bedroom has been furnished with an en-suite bathroom, the entrance hall has been opened up, and the old wooden staircase replaced with majestic stone. Located between the river Dordogne (to the North) and Lot (to the South) Chateau de Lamostonie offers many sightseeing opportunities, such as Rocamadour, Sarlat, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, the pont Valentre at Cahors, and some spectacular caves with underground rivers and prehistoric paintings. The tennis court, swimming pool and barbecue, however, keep us from wanting to be anywhere else during the summer months. We hope you will enjoy being at Lamostonie as much as we do.
