Villa des Thermes is a well appointed town house in the centre of the small market town of Saint Jean d'Angély in the Charente Maritime department of SW France. It is a spacious (57m2) one bedroomed holiday rental sleeping 2 and is rated 4* by the French tourist board. For a short break it could sleep up to four people with the sofa bed in the sitting room and a second shower room and toilet. With a fully equipped kitchen and generous walled garden, it is the ideal holiday home for a short break or longer holiday. Villa des Thermes has one master bedroom (13.3m2) with a 180x200 king sized bed. The comfortable mattress has wrapped springs and integrated memory foam topper supplied by France's number one manufacturer of quality mattresses. We supply a selection of both firm and soft pillows, all bed linen is provided and the bed is ready made for your arrival.
There is a wardrobe, cupboard and shelf each side of the bed plus individual reading lights. A seven drawer semainier completes the storage space.
The spacious en suite bathroom (5m2) has a good sized walk in rainfall shower (140x90), bath (150x70) sink unit with shelving and suspended toilet. Towels are provided too.
Villa des Thermes is a spacious house for a couple. The sitting room (20m2) seats 4 on a 3 seater sofa (also converts to a second bed) and an armchair. There is a large window with view over the walled garden. Shutters, blackout curtains and blinds also mean you can block out the light and snuggle down to watch a movie on the 55" smart tv. There is free speedy fibre wifi throughout the house and a bilingual (English / French) Amazon Alexa / Bluetooth speaker. The tv has Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney apps which you can login to with your own account details.
The well equipped kitchen (6m2) has everything you'll need for a comfortable self catering holiday. Electric oven/grill (71L), 4 ring gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer (169L/37L), toaster, electric kettle, coffee machine (Bosch Tassimo) slow cooker, hand blender and all the pots and pans, crockery and cutlery needed for a fabulous break in Saint Jean d'Angély. If there is anything you need at all - just ask.
This 'secret' garden is a haven of relaxation in the centre of a bustling French town. The terrace immediately outside the kitchen is ideal for outdoor dining. The paved walkways lead to the herb garden where you can sit with the gentle sound of the water feature and the scent of aromatic herbs whilst reading a book on the bench; or enjoy a pre dinner cocktail on the decked area under the palm tree; or relax on a sun lounger in the heat of the day in the shaded area at the back of the garden. Should you be feeling more active an exercise bike, yoga mat and wooden skittles are provided. The garden is not overlooked and it is a residential area with quiet neighbours.
St Jean d'Angély is located at junction 34 of the A10 motorway. La Rochelle airport is under an hours drive away, Poitiers and Bordeaux airports about 1hr15. The coast with hundreds of km of sandy beaches are less than an hours drive. The historic towns of Saintes and Cognac around 30 to 40mins away. The town has a twice weekly market, several large supermarkets, a good choice of bars and restaurants, a park with childrens play area, lake with canoes, river walks, a theatre, cinema, museum and a large indoor swimming pool centre as well as lots of history - you won't want to leave!
