Platres can be found in the district of Limassol and is 25 kilometres north-west of the city of Limassol. It's also 45 kilometres southwest of the capital Nicosia and 5 kilometres from Troodos square. Platres is renowned for its warm welcoming hospitality, traditional local cuisine.
The village is built amphitheatrically with a variation in low and high altitudes in certain parts of the village. The average altitude of Platres is around 1200 meters.

The altitude and location of the Village are ideal. Platres climate is perfect. During summertime, the climate is dry, with little or no humidity with temperatures well below the average of those on other areas on the island.
