Goudi
Situated on the banks of the Chrysochou River, Goudi is a peaceful Cypriot village near Polis in Paphos District, Cyprus. Providing an ideal location to explore the beauty of the surrounding area, Goudi is a picturesque village famous for its stone built villas and efforts to maintain the beauty and the traditions of Cyprus.
Goudi is situated between the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the spectacular mountains of Paphos Forest and the Troodos. Walking in the forests is a delight. Filled with pine trees, fruit and olive trees, wild flowers and herbs and vineyards the air is scented and the views spectacular.
Both Peristerona and ‘Steni' village centres are just 1-2km away from ‘Georgios Rafaela Villa’ and where you will find a taste of the ‘real Cyprus'. With their mini-markets selling fresh organic produce, coffee shops and restaurants/tavernas as well as the friendly locals, you won't have to travel far to get the most out of your holiday.
Travel a little further into the hills and you will find Lysos, which has a very good horse riding school and shooting range (please ask for details) and is also home to a very good traditional Cyprus taverna, with neighbouring shops and the more widely known Paradisos Hills Hotel which does an excellent Sunday buffet as well as a themed Indian night on a Friday.

There is plenty of activity to choose from in Polis, whether you wish to dine in one of the many good quality restaurants, have a coffee or lunch in the central square, hire mountain bikes, quad bikes or maybe even a boat!
The nearby Latchi beach is renowned as one of the best in Cyprus and not as crowded as the beaches in and around Paphos itself. Latchi beach is famous for its clear blue sea, soft white sand and a great selection of watersports which are readily available. The watersports available at Latchi include diving, snorkelling, sailing, banana rides and a great deal more. Bring your UK driving licence and you can even hire a boat and explore the Akamas coast from the sea. Drop anchor when you feel like it and swim or snorkel in the warm crystal blue water of the Mediterranean Sea.
For the more adventurous, you can explore the Akamas nature reserve and go all the way round to Lara Beach famous for its turtles and another wonderful unspoilt beach.
You can also venture to the nearby villages of Miliou, Droushia and Panagia or further on to Kathikas with its vineyards and wineries. Other fantastic scenery can be taken in at Cedar Valley and the Troodos mountain range where in winter, you can even ski!
Paphos airport is 40 minutes away (31km) by very good quality roads with English road signs. Visit Goudi (for a taste of the real Cyprus) and you won’t be disappointed.

The pictures of this villa really does not do it justice. We were a party of 3 generations and it suited us brilliantly. We picked up hire car from airport and although the villa was a little hard to find at night, we got there and was amazed at how much room and how clean the villa was. The welcoming pack was much appreciated and a lovely gesture. On exploring the next morning we were delighted to find the villa set amongst orchards of oranges and lemons which we picked daily. The swimming pool was an ideal size and we enjoyed the fact there were no other properties nearby and we had totally seclusion! You really do need a car as there is nothing within walking distance, but shops, restaurants and nightlife were about a 10min drive away in Polis. I really can't thank Anna and what I think was her husband enough, they both went above and beyond anything we could imagine and anything we asked or needed was immediately dealt with. This villa will not suit everyone, especially those who like a lively holiday, but for us it was perfect and I really can't rave enough about it....already looking to go back next year!

Absolutely beautiful villa we were so pleased when we arrived it really is just like the pictures. You do need a car though.
Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us so we did not travel around the area much only went to Polis which is
a lovely little town just down the road. We were able to make use of the wonderful pool when the sun did come out and
the table tennis was well used. Lovely toys for our grandchildren to play with. We definitely will be returning and pray that
the sun comes out so we can really enjoy this wonderful place.
Anna was very kind and came to see us on the first day with fresh eggs which went down very well.

The property was amazing, the rural location was just perfect for our Honeymoon although a car is advised if you like to explore. Latchi was a very nice little town with a beach. Polis was also frequented and a lovely little town with plenty of Restaurants.

Review submitted by Alison from Gloucestershire (Submitted: 18/06/2019) ''Absolutely fine villa, had everything we wanted and met our expectations. Plenty of shady areas, lovely pool area and sunbed. Really appreciated the food welcome pack. Loved the location, very rural and remote. Car hire essential but within a 10 minute drive of everything we needed. The Last Castle on the edge of Akamas nr Ag Georgious, Paradisos Hotel at Lysos, Kandili Rest, Pomos and ChicChox in Polis. Sea Caves, pathos Mosaics, driving the loop via Lycos, the Moufflon Enclosure up into the mountains then looping back around to Pomos. Definitely satisfied with your service and would use again. The driving instructions for arrival were spot on, we would never have found the Villa without them. It was pretty much a perfect holiday, our Grandson had the time of his life!.''
Review submitted by Paul and Karen from Kent (Submitted: 11/07/2016) ''My wife and I had a wonderful holiday in Cyprus, it was our first time there, but I am sure we will be back again soon. The villa itself was everything we had hoped for, private and peaceful, everything we needed was in the villa and the sun bed next to the pool was great. The pool got plenty of use as the weather was superbly hot! The wildlife round the villa kept us entertained as well, plenty of lizards, bats at dusk and a hedgehog and owl at night. The villa was easy to find, we had hired a car through elephantrentacar, who were also great, we were out of the airport and away in 10 minutes!! And the drive to the villa was only about 35 minutes. There was a couple of small shops within walking distance of the villa but I drove to the Papantoniou supermarket in Polis for most of our shopping, their freshly cut sirloin and fillet steaks and chicken skewers were delicious on the villas barbeque and very reasonably priced. Polis and Latchi were only a 5-8 minute drive away and there was plenty of choice of bars and restaurants in both, the most note worthy were Saavas in Polis where we watched the football, very friendly staff and arranged taxi back to the villa. Chix chox, nice food and Cypriot dancing. Moustakallis, who’s Afelia was delicious. But best of all by a mile was the Old town restaurant in Polis, where we had their gourmet meze, lovely setting and probably one of the best , tastiest and most filling meals I’ve ever eaten! Can’t fault your companies service in any way, booking process was simple and all the paperwork and helpful hints were much appreciated. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone I know or to book through yourselves again the next time we come to Cyprus. Anne the owner came to visit us on the first day and was very friendly and when we had a problem with the air conditioning she was at the villa within an hour to resolve it. The pool cleaner was round twice a week but had everything done before 7 a.m. so as not to disturb our time at the villa. We will definitely return to Cyprus at some time in the future, this is our 8th villa based holiday and I would say it was probably the best one we’ve stayed in so far. We had a wonderful holiday in a wonderful villa, with wonderful weather, in a lovely, friendly country. Thank you for your part in providing us with a great holiday and I look forward to using your services again in the future. Many thanks. Paul and Karen.''
Review submitted by Phil from Essex (Submitted: 15/04/2015) ''Thanks for your email and all your help with our holiday. The Quincey family all had a great time and the wedding we were visiting Cyprus for was very special. The property was fabulous. The kitchen was well equipped (although a bread board and larger chopping board would be helpful) and the general décor throughout the property was very good and I particularly liked the contemporary style. The open plan layout works really well with a big party as nobody feels left out if they are the ones doing the cooking. We chose the property because it was close to the venue for the wedding that we were invited to – Ayii Anargyrii. We all loved the location in the middle of the orange groves – the scent was gorgeous. It was a lovely quiet spot but also close to the main road, so getting to other places was easy. The local supermarkets were very close too which was helpful. The directions to the Villa were absolutely accurate – even in the dark at 2am we had no problem finding it. We spent most of our time relaxing with family and at the wedding, so not much time to explore further afield on this trip. However, we found a really good baker on the road from Polis to Argaka from whom we enjoyed local Easter pastries and excellent baklava. The communication between ourselves and Steven has been excellent. Quick and helpful responses throughout the process thank you. The only issue we had was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The owners were very friendly and willing to help. The welcome pack that was left was really helpful, particularly as we arrived in the middle of the night. Our requests for non-slip bath mats (with my elderly mother in law in mind) and a cot and high chair for the baby had been provided on arrival. Thanks again and should we wish to visit Cyprus again, we would certainly be in touch.''
Review submitted by Martin and Titia from Voorburg, Holland (Submitted: 27/10/2014) ''The villla as a whole was fully up to our expectations. In reality it looked even better than on the pictures. It suited our party of 9 (we as grandparents, our son and daughter with partners and their respective 2 and 1 children, aged 8, 6 and 3) perfectly. Because of the excellent weather we spent a lot of time outside and that is exactly where the strong points are: the nice garden with all the plants and herbs, the inviting swimmingpool, the loungearea, the alfresco eatfacilities with the large barbecue and not to forget the children’s playground with the very popular tennistable. The house itself was very clean and there were sufficient towels etc. The kitchen was overall well equipped. The location was absolutely fabulous. Surrounded by numerous orange- and olivetrees it was a very private oasis and yet only a 10 minute drive to Polis and the beaches. We went almost every day to the beaches west of Latsi, on the road to Aphrodite’s bath. Beautiful snorkelingwater! The two restaurants that we can recommend are: Taverna The Tremythas of Simou: An authentique familiy-run restaurant opposite the church in the central square of Simou, a small countryside village past the Evretou Dam. We had a table outside for dinner and were surprised by a large selection of Mezze, well prepared and well worth the reasonable price. Moreover the service was warm and welcoming, in which the whole family took part. Our grandchildren were given toys to play with during the breaks. Taverna Archontariki in Polis town: Nice mediterrenean food, well prepared and good price-quality. We had dinner in the very nice garden, where the children could play in the playground during the intervals. We were pleased with all the information. Our arrival was on Sundy afternoon and we were pleasantly surprised by the welcome package (a cake and other things in the fridge; a bottle of sparkling wine etc.) and a note from Anna to welcome us and to say that she would stop by one of these days. She mentioned the special villa cell-phone, in case of need. The whole week was one enormous feast for us, not in the last place because of the wonderful Georgio Rafaela Villa and beautiful Cyprus''.
Review submitted by Badri from Moscow (Submitted: 02/08/2013) "WONDERFUL, Perfect villa into orange grove, very quiet place, fine for stay with a small children. For family - La Plage. there is everything for adults and for kids (restaurant, beach, playground). For shoping best place is Papaantonio supermarket in Polis center. Yes! Fully satisfied with your service! The owners family is perfect. Very nice and hospitable people. We became realy friends. Thanks a lot for wonderful holydays!
Review submitted by Teresa from Milton Keynes - (Submitted: 27/06/2013) "I have to say, we had an amazing time at the Villa, Anna and Gianni (?) really are lovely people and their Villa is a beautiful as they are. It has everything that you could possibly need and more. We did not need to go anywhere as we were so comfortable lounging in or by the pool. The surroundings were so pretty as was most of the local wildlife. The villa was fantastic and I look forward to visiting again and again. The location was Perfect - Exactly as advertised and what we were looking for. We didnt really leave the Villa apart from to go to Limassol a few times as everything you could want was there. We are extremely satisfied with your service. Anna and Gianni are really lovely people and I consider them to be personal friends now. I hope that we can book the Villa again with you at some point soon."
Review submitted by Maire from Gloucester (Submitted: 10/06/2013) "The villa was immaculate and even better than we had expected. The play area for the little ones was wee received by our grandchildren. Though the road to the Villa is a bit of a dirt track, it meant that the we enjoyed peace, quiet and seclusion. Polis is teeming with restaurants and bars but our family did enjoy Th Old House (?) - opposite the road to Latchi. We also had lunch at The Kolios winery and that was spectacular and not at all expensive. A very efficient service from letsrentonline: our emails were always answered promptly and you tried to help whenever possible. Your suggestions for my daughters arrival were very kind. Annas service could not be faulted. She cooked for our arrival and again after 1 week when she came to clean, she left more home cooked food. When we called , she came right over to answer our queries. The pool was cleaned regularly during our stay and was always done discretely. Many thanks for a stressfree rental which helped make our visit so memorable. "
Review submitted by Hans from The Netherlands -(Submitted: 12/05/2013) "We can that confirm we had a great time in a lovely house. The terrace outside is a great improvement as it offers a great place for outside breakfast, lunch and diner in the shade. Thanks for all prompt assistance. Regards, Hans Bes"
Review submitted by Anonymous from London - (Submitted: 30/10/2012) "The villa was very clean and had everything we needed. The location nice and quiet and secluded, but still close to all amenities and beaches. Nothing really stuck out - it was all so lovely! We were very satisfied with the whole service, yes - an amazing hostess, Anna made sure you were always comfortable and any problems dealt with quickly (we had a blackout - the local area, but she still came to check everything was ok!)"
Review submitted by The Montogomery Family from Watford - (Submitted: 02/09/2012) "We had a wonderful holiday. The property was beautiful and in a fantastic setting. The owners left us with basic supplies in the fridge and then when they popped round they presented us with ice-cream and a bottle of wine. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was amazing - totally private and spacious yet within easy reach of Latchi and Polis. We would definitely aim to stay there again the next time we visit Cyprus. Thank you very much for all your help and organisation. Regards. The Montgomery Family"
Review submitted by Susan from Whitley Bay - (Submitted: 05/08/2012) "The property was exceptionally clean and in a beautiful location. Trees and an afternoon breeze meant that the pool and house were cool and comfortable. This would be a perfect spot for young children as the property and grounds were carefully equipped - an enclosed outside, play area, pool - shady and exceptionally warm in the afternoons, inside the house, there are gates to ensure that there are safe areas for small toddlers. Myself and my partner holiday with my 2 grown up children, so we look for comfortable accomodation for adults (rather than bedrooms suitable for small children). We all had double beds, our own bathrooms, living room area was able to seat 4 adults comfortably, there was loads of room around the pool, and even a shady seating area in the trees in the grounds - perfect for avoidance of any family squabbles!! We are very fond of remote, rural environments. The villa was set, just outside a small village and in a large orange grove. From each window, there are views of Cyprus hills or trees. For eating and shopping, we travelled into the nearby town of Polis. This is easily accessible - 5 - 10 mins drive. Polis is an unspoilt, quiet town, with 2 excellent supermarkets. The paved, central area has some restaurants and a few small gift shops. If youre looking for noisy and touristy, then this is not the place. 5 minutes out of Polis, there are some beaches at Latchi, a harbour, restaurants on the beach and some more usual touristy, gift shops. We think that the best beaches are further to the east of Polis - but they are empty of everything - with the odd bar over the road. You park your car on the wasteland (not in posh parking areas), then step down onto a deserted beach - pick your spot. Swimming in the afternoon is divine - as warm as a bath with a few waves for entertainment - along with a view of the sunset over the Akamas mountains. If you want people, sunbeds, cafes, shops, watersports - go to Latchi - still very beautiful - take your pick. Lets Rent Onlines Service was excellent. We failed to find the villa, although we are used to making our way to very remote spots, in the dark, in unfamiliar hire cars. In daylight hours, we still thought it was quite difficult to find (and not just down to our day starting at 2.30am - and hunting for the property in the early hours of the next day). Perhaps a small sign, with the villas name on, at the turn into the orange grove - it was just a forest track. However, this is not, in any way a complaint or criticism, as we entered the village by the wrong entrance, and hence were disorientated. We cannot praise the owners, highly enough. We rang the only contact we had (which turned out to be the owners themselves) in the early hours, as we were then thinking of a sleep in the car!! They came straight away, and took us to the villa. They were very keen to make everything as nice as possible, but at the same time were very respectful of our privacy - a text with a request to call to clean, a text with information about local medical care for tonsillitus. Each time they brought cakes or ice cream. Very lovely people. Agent Note: 3 Directional Arrows with the villas name have now been erected to assist with finding and latest customers have found very easily. Many thanks"
