From £405 per week
Beautiful LUXURY MODERN 3 bedroomed villa with POOL in country village, exclusive 1.5 ACRE GROUNDS, 20 minutes to sea, 45 minutes airport, sleeps to 8
Overview
The villa is set in the very quiet village of Popgrigorovo, which is situated in the gently rolling hills of the Bulgarian countryside, and yet is 10 minutes drive from Dobrich and 20 minutes drive from Balchik, with the resorts of Albena and Golden sands just few more minutes away. Varna is another 10 minutes along the coastal road from Golden Sands.
The village is a small, sleepy haven for those who want to get away from it all, there is little or no traffic and the only sounds you will hear as you sip your rakia on the balcony are the honking of the geese or the occasional bray of a local donkey.
The Villa
Built in 2005 the villa has everything that you are used to at home, plus a whole lot more. It is light and airy, and has all new modern fixtures and fittings.
The ground floor is open plan with entry to the kitchen area through the side door. The kitchen is fully equipped, it has a washing machine, fridge, freezer, combination grill/microwave, kettle, toaster, hob and oven. There is a full complement of cooking utensils, plus all the crockery and cutlery you need.
The living area has a three piece suite plus pouffe, so up to six people can sit in comfort to watch the tv. There is Bulgarian satellite tv, which has a fair number of English-speaking channels, plus live premiership matches on Saturdays and all the grand prixs. There is also a DVD player with a good selection of contemporary movies on DVD.
The sofa can be converted to a comfortable double bed, allowing a total of eight occupants in the villa.
The dining area has a large pine table and chairs, and as the kitchen is in a galley style, serving up meals is easy.
There are two large doors at the front of the house leading to the patio, swimming pool and barbecue areas, and of course the garden.
The hand-made wrought iron spiral staircase leads to the first floor. There is a large wet room (bathroom) with toilet, hand basin and shower.
There are two twin bedrooms and one double, which has full en suite facilities including shower. All the bedrooms have mirrors and large pine wardrobes, all bed linen and towels are supplied. All three bedrooms have double doors leading to the balcony.
There are two cherry trees nearby and you can easily pick cherries from the trees as you relax on the balcony.
The Grounds
The garden is a huge 4100 square metres (about 1.5 acres) and is situated on a gentle slope, providing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
The garden has many fruit trees, including apple, cherry, strawberries, raspberries and plums. Last year we made 33 litres of rakia from our plums, there will be a sample waiting for you on arrival!
The swimming pool is 7 metres by 3 metres with a 1.5 metre depth. There is a 1.5 metre tiled surround, giving plenty of room for those all-important sun beds! There is also a stylish metal railing around the pool to keep you and the kids safe, the pool has underwater lighting making it an ideal venue for an evening barbecue.
Country Life
PopGrigorovo is not a resort but a genuine Bulgarian village. Most villagers in Bulgaria have dogs, and on occasion the dogs in the village will all bark in unison. Its not a major problem and it will not spoil your holiday in any way, but we want to make sure that you are aware of this fact.

Our third year now at Adrian villa and another excellent holiday. We arrived at 2am and we were warmly welcomed, the villa was clean and the beds all made up and ready for us to flop into. This year internet (wi-fi) has been added and was greatly appreciated by the kids. The villagers as always were friendly and charming, I never tire of watching the goats and their antics this year we had the added delight of a couple of young donkey foals in the field behind the villa great fun. The area is excellent for all your needs and at £1.95 for a bottle of wine what more could you ask for lol, excellent restaurants less than 30 minutes in either direction absolutely superb villa and region cant wait for next year.

Adrian met us at the airport and we were given very clear instructions (with picture) on how to get to the property which was very useful. On arriving at the house we were provided with some essentials which again a lovely touch. The house itself and its location surpassed our expections, the swimming pool was superb and easily accommodates a grown up family of 5, the house is located in a very quiet and peacefull village in the countryside with excellent views across the hills. We enjoyed watching the donkeys and carts, goats and sheep every morning and afternoon. The location of the property made for easy access to both Balchik and Dobrich and Albena is aslo a short distance away. We had 2 weeks of brilliant sunshine (not one dro p of rain) and 2 weeks of great fun, food and drink. We would highly recommend this villa to everyone! We hope to return again next year.

We flew into Varna and the Villa was a 45 min drive away, we used http://www.bulgariacarrent.com/ as recommended by the owner and had no issues with the car\pick up etc.
As has been said by the previous reviews, for the money, this villa was fantastic. We have a 3 and 5 year old and the pool was just the right size, it also has quite a bit of grass to let them run on.
There are a few local shops which stock the essentials, but its only 10-12 mins to Kaufland in Dobrich where you can get everything you need. The locals in the village speak little english, but they are really friendly and helpful, its a nice quiet place that seems like youve gone back in time. It definately suits a family holiday, theres loads of donkeys and geese and other animals for the kids to see as you walk around the village streets, you can see the shepherd with his flock of sheep & goats every night as you sit outside on the hammock. One other thing is security, you dont exactly feel as if you need to lock the place up, but you do of course just in case. We screwed up the security system a few times, and these big fellas who looked like bouncers from a london nightclub turned up 5 mins later. No idea how they got there so fast, but it gave you a certain level of confidence in terms of safety.
We had a few others small things happen, but we just texted our contact Katya, and they were solved quick as a flash.
The one negative is that the villa is air conditioned on the bottom floor but only has fans upstairs, this led to our first week being slightly hot when going to bed\upstairs, but if you open the windows (but keep the flyscreens up) the air gets through and its not too bad.
For us, it was the first time to Bulgaria, and to be honest we didnt know what to expect. The roads arent the best in places, and dont think about looking about as you walk the pavements as youll more likely trip over a broken paving slab (esspecially in Dorbich square) but its cheap to eat and drink, the people are nice, the weather is great (32 in the shade when we went in August) and they have countdown clocks on their traffic lights...!!! I cant believe itll be long before people find out about Bulgaria and itll be the new spain, but currently it feels like largely undiscovered gem.
Highly recommended, one of our most relaxing holidays to date....!!!

You can also get all the premier league games (even the ones that kick of at 3.00) on the tv in the villa.

It was one of our best holidays. Highly Recommended

The villa is perfect if you want a get away from it all.
It is set in a tiny village so there are no shops, restaurants or bars locally you will have to drive for 20 – 30 min into town to find one. On the other hand all the facilities you need to provide for yourself are there at the Villa including a barbeque which we used every day.
The nearest supermarket is in Dobrich about 20min drive, and is easy to find following the directions provided. It is very large and has everything you could want.
The villa is set down from the road and is accessed via steep steps. So for anyone with mobility difficulties this may be a problem. Also there is a spiral staircase to the first floor which may also prove difficult.
Overall we felt the Villa was very good value and we had a wonderful time.

This property was in a beautiful rural location and very peaceful. With unlimited use of the vegetable garden we were freely supplied with tomatoes, cucumbers and watermelons. The villa was very well equipped and comfortable. We made good use of the swimming pool and the outside seating area offered much needed shade.

Extra information
There is air conditioning on the ground floor. The villa is built on a slope so the back wall is very cool, keeping the villa temparature down. There are large fans in the bedrooms and as all doors and windows have full length mosquito screens you can sleep with them open. All floors are fully tiled which also adds to the cool aspect of the house. The rental price is all-inclusive,there is nothing to pay for air con, electricity, water, or pool facilities. The villa has a burglar alarm for your security and peace of mind. It is linked to the security company, and on activation security personnel will be on site within ten minutes. (This facility works - we have tried it!) In order to maintain the open aspect of the surrounding countryside, the boundary fences are constructed from transparent wire mesh, as opposed to solid materials. Please note that the swimming pool is only in service between the months of May to October inclusive.
